I have absolutely no doubt Wallace Hall has been running around since January saying he contacted Saban's agent and that he did. It's one of the reasons Hall is about to be the first Texas regent ever impeached

Wallace Hall got his arse in a crack for withholding damaging information regarding his law practice during his confirmation hearing. Contacting the agent of a coach of another school without going thru the President of UT is just one of the reasons he's going to be shite-canned. But Hall is happy to fall on his sword for Rick Perry, who appointed him and will reward him for his "service".

Also, it was Hall who released the story to the AP. Anything he can do to embarrass UT's President is fair game. He is just one of the arse-hats that the Texas governor has appointed to the BOR. But that will all be corrected soon when Abbott is Governor. Perry over-played his hand in going after UT President Powers. Hall is simply a stooge and will be rewarded in some way by Perry.

Believe it or not, Saban does not want to be a deity...and that is what the Alabama fan base has done to him.

I know for certain that Nick and Terry have never "loved" the University of Alabama. It is a job, just like Miami, just like LSU and just like Texas would be.

I also know for certain they feel suffocated in that hick town in central Alabama.

I am not saying they are leaving...far from it. What I am saying is that if any Bama fan thinks that Saban loves them in the same way they love him, they are very wrong.

There is no loyalty relative to this situation. Texas is intriguing to any coach. They have money, tradition and a recruiting goldmine. He would be a fool not to listen to what they have to say...and he is not a fool.
I believe every single thing you posted.

Saban is no damn fool, IMO he's already listened to the Texas offers. Probably listening to them for quite a while now.

If he goes, he goes nothing Bama can do to stop him.

All I gotta say is Thanks Coach for the best 5 years of college football I've ever witnessed in my adult life. I thought the long, dominating runs in college football were over - Saban proved me wrong.

Hey Bama fans, how hurt would you be if Saban left and it wasn't even for a significant pay raise?

Thank God! Just as my faith in the TEXAS INSIDER was waning, we get a true-to-life, no foolin' SABAN INSIDER.

Ugh. This sucks. But, since you know so many things for certain, surely you'll tell us what Coach Saban is going to do here.

There you go, folks! And this guy KNOWS THINGS FOR CERTAIN ABOUT HOW SABAN FEELS.

So, you're saying "He's not leaving, but he might leave." Way to take a stand, Saban insider.

Or IF the son and daughter-in-law move to Austin - maybe Miss Terry and Nick want a house in town to visit the new GRANDBABY that's on the way!!!!

I know for a FACT that new grandparents will do just about anything for their grandkids.

Bama has a long history of elevating the level of their head coaches. Since Ears Whitworth, there isn't a single HC who hasn't done significantly better at Bama than they did at their other stops. Dubose and Shula were the only ones who truly failed miserably and Bama was the only HC job for both men. If Texas expects Saban to go in and dominate like he has at Bama, they're fooling themselves. They're much more likely to have the same kind of success that Saban's LSU teams had.

Exactly. There were not formal discussion between Saban and Texas Regents. Just this asshat trying to be a big shot.

Yeah, but not really. I mean, that's great that you type that and all, but nobody actually believes that.

I'm curious as to why you think Saban gives a frick about college towns?

Oh I just threw the Austin being better thing to jab people but it is. I could choose to live in Bama but my quality if life would suck so I chose to live in Austin.

I just think that if Saban really did want to get out of Bama for some strange reason this would be his best shot at not sacrificing much and going to a place he could win fast, easier, and recruit easier.

Terry is just trolling the Bama admins, fluffing Saban's Bear Bryant status bonus check after the NC game..

I have reason to believe that Saban has really come to love Tuscaloosa. The tornado really brought him close to Ttown. This has been stated by people who are close to him.

hold on...

You have the best college football coach that's ever lived and you're acting like the last 5 years was because he was at Bama.

Saban is a much better coach now than he was at LSU. He has a much more fierce killer instinct. And, he doesn't take his foot off the gas like he used to at LSU. If he goes to Texas and stays for 7 or 8 years, they're gonna win multiple National Championships.

He's 61 years old. How much does he realistically have left in the tank? If I'm Texas, I'd rather look for an up and coming youngster with a reputation as a recruiter. Somebody in 40-50 years old range who can build a program over the course of twenty years instead of just a 5-7 year rent-a-legend.
