Saban has done more since 2008 than i ever imagined possible by any coach. If he leaves, i will be disappointed but have no negative feelings towards him. How could you have negative feelings towards a coach that potentially wins you 3 titles?
Posted on 12/10/12 at 2:12 pm to GhostBuster6
If he left and came back to Auburn you wouldn't say that. Regardless of what you say now.
Posted on 12/10/12 at 2:16 pm to LeClerc
guess that's a good point. well, whatever. i mean, it's not like it wouldn't suck balls to lose Saban. so yeah.
*edit*
but i would definitely not begrudge him or have ill-will at all.

It's all relative. Not saying this would happen, but while rational LSU fans appreciate what he did here, the bottom line is that he's done more at our rival. That is why LSU fans have the red arse for him.
If he went to AU and won them 6 National Titles, I think Bama fans would want blood lol

They can target him all they want, I just don't see him leaving Alabama at this point. If he were 5 or 6 years younger then maybe.
Coughlin (NY) is 66
Bellichick is 60
Fox (Denver)is almost 58
Norv Turner (Chargers) is 60
Pete Carroll is 61
Saban is 61 and takes good care of himself. Only outlier is whether his heart condition is a problem that might cause him to not add a new stress. But, for him, NOT working would probably be a bigger stress. No recruiting stresses in the pros, less live or die with each game in the pros.
It might be a way of 1) getting a new challenge and 2) reducing stress. Age is not the factor.

On a scale of 1-10, how bad do you want Nick Saban gone? I think most LSU fans in this thread would rate a 25 on this scale.

I bet you he would. Him going to auburn wouldn't diminish what he did at bama.
LSU fans aren't pissed simply that saban went to a rival sec west school. They're pissed because he's been far more successful there than he was at lsu.
It would be like if Richt went to auburn. I guess I wouldn't be thrilled of course, and I would still very much appreciate what he's done here at UGA. But if won a national title there then damn right I'd be pissed.

It's not just LSU fans, anybody who has to play or recruit against bama should answer a 10. And that's not being "butthurt" or jealous or sour grapes, that's just rational and logical thinking. He's the best coach in football, what possible reason would any non-bama fan have for not wanting to see him go?

They were at first just because they felt betrayed or whatever. But I guarandamntee you if saban averaged going 8-4 every year they wouldn't GAS.

yeah, that's a good point. because they were reaaaaaaaaaaally touting the whole "he never has back to back 10 win seasons" and "he will leave y'all so soon and we'll be laughing" lines LOTS.
so, they really didn't want to see him do here what he did there. and he's destroyed what he accomplished at LSU.

If I were Alabama fans I'd be cheering my arse off for RG3. If Jason Garrett gets fired, Nick Saban is a Dallas Cowboy.

"The doctors over rode the decision". That is laughable. Nicky had 1000% full control of that team & to think that any physician would over ride him on such an important football decision is taking naivity to extremes. That quote came from Nicky AFTER Brees was shining with the Saints & his QB's were sucking. Nicky made a mistake. Why is that so hard for his lovers to accept? But for what it's worth, I could care less whether he stays...and I feel he will.....or goes. I am just enjoying all the rumors that we had to put up with every yr he was here. Literally every yr.
