What do you mean by this? Just curious

That phrase could be taken 2 ways, but I read it as "his accomplishments at bama vastly overshadow his accomplishments at lsu". Not "his success now has tarnished his legacy at lsu".

The resident Aggie troll has spoken. You know damn well those two egos can't co-exist. At least go with the current "Saban to Cleveland" trend. He coached there for five years and has connections to potential management there. It makes for a good troll until Saban signs another extension with Alabama.

On a scale of 1-10, how bad do you want Nick Saban gone? I think most LSU fans in this thread would rate a 25 on this scale.

I might be in the minority, but I hope he stays. Its a lot more fun playing Bama when it means something to beat them than taking most of a decade with the games not meaning much, even if I know we are going to lose some of them.

He's a great coach and I admire the overall manor in which most of his players at LSU and Bama have conducted themselves.

If he goes to the Browns, I think college FB loses.

"The doctors over rode the decision". That is laughable. Nicky had 1000% full control of that team & to think that any physician would over ride him on such an important football decision is taking naivity to extremes.

Did you even read my post? If it were up to Saban they'd have never let Brees leave Miami after his visit. The doctors informed Saban, Mueller and Huizenga that Brees' torn labrum would never heal back to 100%. There was a further evaluation period, and that's when the Saints swooped in. Saban never got over this throughout the entire 2006 season.

Why is that so hard for his lovers to accept?

Please don't call me this. I don't care what Saban does either, but I guarantee you I know more about the Miami Dolphins and their past management than anyone on this board.

If he goes to the Browns, I don't have much confidence that he turns that organization around. JMO after seeing him coach in Miami

For enough money and a pirce of ownership, Saban would go coach Buffalo.

No. You are engaging in pure speculation.

Based on what Saban has stated in his books, he does not like to coach in a cold weather area. That's one of the reasons why he left northerly climes to coach at LSU.

I'll never ever understand this mindset. Do you think UGA fans should take comfort in the fact that we lost to bama in the SECCG simply because they have saban and are the best team in the country? Hell no, it's still a loss.

You can play that "it's SO much more fun to beat them with saban" card all you want..and that does make sense. But look at the facts, not many people have beaten them the last 5 years. I don't care about what's "good for college football" or the SEC, I care about what's good for UGA. And UGA winning a national title is easier if bama isn't as strong as they are.

No offense, but you're another one who doesn't realize the epic shitacular crapfest Wannstedt and Speilman left over.

He took one of the least talented rosters in the NFL and brought it to 9-7 in the first year.

Look, I think I'm in this thread for the wrong reason. I am not a Saban lover nor do I care what he does in the future. But all these people thinking that because he failed with the Dolphins he would fail anywhere else are wrong.

The Dolphins from 2000-2011 are one of the saddest, most mismanaged pro sports franchises ever.

I like seeing you post about the phins. I became a fan in 2007 but don't follow them (or the NFL in general really) 1/50th as much as I do college.

Do you ever post on finheaven? That's the only dolphins board I've ever really looked at and post on occasionally.

Saban will revel in the challenge. If he can handle the gump fan base, he can handle Jerry Jones.

It just seems to me that his hard assed, perfectionist coaching mentality wouldn't end up working well in the NFL like it does so well in the NCAA.

Maybe i've been hearing the wrong things(that players didn't really respect him that much in MIA)

In high school and even in my early years at LSU, Miami Dolphins football consumed me. I cared about them more than some family members. I still love them, but I'm not on the lunatic fringe anymore.

I signed up in 2002 and have over 12k posts there. Don't go there anymore though. It's not what it used to be.

Nice, I think I have like 12 posts lol.

Funny story about why I'm a fan. Me and my buddy in college didn't really follow the NFL, but after getting into fantasy football we wanted to pick a team to get behind. We ruled out the falcons because everyone we knew jumped on that bandwagon in middle school after the 98 season. We also both DESPISE fair weather fans who just like the patriots/lakers/yankees/duke/etc so we couldn't pick a team that was really good. We looked at a team that was average/below average with a potential to improve, had a good color scheme, a good city, and had some sort of history. The dolphins were about 0-14 at this point so we said there's no way in hell people can call us fairweather fans. So we picked miami, went to the mall and bought dolphins hats, signed up for dolphins message boards, etc. The next year they won the AFC east Then not too much exciting after that unfortunately.
