Well there was a story that after the BCS game in 04, Saban was interviewing players after the game regarding their intentions on coming back or going pro and was reviewing tape on recruits. I think Matt Mauck was the one that said that.

I can believe it.

You have your "end of season" meetings with people in the program, so, it's only natural to prepare for these meetings by analyzing "film". I'd also guess that it makes sense to do this as you prepare your info packages for particular recruits.

This isn't "football cyborg robot behavior". This is what it takes to have a chance to be the best. This is normal behavior.

Not only that, but, I'll bet that Coach Saban enjoys the kind of football analysis that comes from "film" study. I would find it the most relaxing part of the job, were I he.

Honest question: what's the value in watching film of your last game of the season at this time? I understand when you're getting ready for spring practice. But the day after the game, what would he be getting out of that?
Easy - gotta plan for the future. He's hitting the recruiting trail pronto, he's got to be able to sell his program to the top talent in the country. Ask the 5* if he watched the championship game and tell him how you can use his talents in specific areas and use the game as an example of where his talents can be utilized.

I imagine Miles sits in his seat staring straight ahead like a slightly dumber David Puddy.

It was real inappropriate. Tell Les to call Nick and they can send you a joint apology letter.
