Honest question: what's the value in watching film of your last game of the season at this time? I understand when you're getting ready for spring practice. But the day after the game, what would he be getting out of that?

Figure out what needs to be worked on for Spring Practice? What we need to stop a mobile QB from a recruiting standpoint, evaluation of their players and skill set, and perception that he doesn't stop working and will continue to win championships.

Right, but spring ball is months away. Right now is recruiting. So, I just didn't see why he'd be focusing on that film now, and not just prior to spring.

because he doesn't know until he watches it. for some it might be excessive but that's why saban is the best. but it does make sense logically. now he has a full picture of what he wants to communicate to the staff and the team moving forward. so there's no gray area or clutter during the time before he watches it. that's the saban process defined. know your job, do your job, which all starts at the top.

and if you think the team is gonna be chilling while saban recruits until spring ball, you don't know much about sec football. it's year round for these kids.

Maybe it can help him evaluate his juniors getting ready to make the decision to stay or go.

I'm just gonna guess he wanted to immediately try to figure out why the defense was struggling so badly. That's the type of thing that would eat at you.

yeah, sorry for taking time to answer your question about why a football coach would watch game film.

Yeah....did you watch the SECN during the game? Bert was somewhat throwing Kirby under the bus, saying that when a coordinator is about to leave, they typically are not well focused on that last game. So, perhaps you're right. Maybe Saban was trying to figure all that out.

no, you didn't answer my question. you just got on your pedestal of self-righteousness and condescension. but, you got it all the answers, so send in your resume. i'm sure saban will hire you immediately.

Some people enjoy watching movies, some love climbing mountains, or some just love being lazy in their spare time. Saban enjoys football and his spare time is spent doing football related stuff. Saban is the employee that never bitches about work because he doesn't see it as work.

Saban loves his job and he's very driven.
Bama is fortunate to have him.

Actually, it really was game film......of Tampa Bay and he's trying to see if it's worth salvaging.
