Was it not a hot issue this year, more so than last year?

Y'all have been worse than the author with your assumptions and opinions.

So there is no evidence that players are imature and the team is dealing with egos butting heads? And one would have to twist Sabans statements in order to come to those conclusions.

there is no evidence that it is leading Saban to retire. just because you want it to be true doesnt mean it is a logical or valid argument.

but ya know,

No it doesn't. However I disagree with this statement because it is idiotic.

Is it out of the realm of possibility? Has it happened before?

And it is absurd to think that a coach who left the NFL for the college game would retire because he doesn't like the attitude of college kids anymore.

Wasn't one of the reason he supposedly left the nfl was because of player egos and control?

Did you really just post this?

So Saban retires from the nfl. One of the reasons was because of player egos and control but that doesn't fit the argument that Saban retiring from alabama at some point because of player egos, control and immaturity.

Please go on

That happened 7 years ago when he was 55.

No one is saying he is going to retire this year, next year, or the one after that. He said WHEN he does, he thinks the main reason will be the constant dealings with 18-21 year old college kids that cause it. It really isn't that absurd when you actually think about it.

Good lord, the man is 62 (63 in October). It's not like he'll be striding the sidelines at BDS for the next decade. Retirement is looming closer and closer every year. That's a fact.

It's not a stretch by any means.

And to use the retort normally dedicated to the op, it's like a bunch of crimson NtY'ers up in here.

He said he liked the ability to get involved and inspire players at the collegiate level more.

Or something like that.

Also something about being allowed to outwork the other coaches.

things can be in the realm of possibility and still be idiotic. The earth will get hit with a global killing asteroid tomorrow. Someone hacked into all the satellites to hide its approach.

But i won't argue semantics with you anymore.

Except one happens routinely and has somewhat happened with Saban in the past already. But guess its idiotic to make assumptions based on past precedent.

Guess I'll say any bama fans that claim a w before it's happened an idiot.

look, it's obvious you are obsessed with Saban. but you dont seem to know much about him.

he has said that he likes working with college players better because they aren't millionaires with huge uncontrollable egos.

and guess what, every other college coach is concerned about the maturity or lack thereof of their players too.

continue your little act.

im done.

So he retires from the nfl because of egos. But retiring from college because of egos is absurded and idiotic?

I just want to make sure I am getting this correct.

Okay, but has Saban and your fanbase made it a significant issue this year in particular at alabama?

If by act you mean not being obtuse or claiming someone is an idiot or obsessed because the see something from a different angle. Then I sure will.

I find this even more funny because allin is the op. And y'all are doing the same thing you chastise him for.

No more than in 2010, or 2012. Complacency is always a hot button issue with Saban. Remember it was the first thing he talked about after winning in 2009. I doubt he was contemplating retiring then. It is just an issue he has to deal with and has dealt with almost his entire tenure here.

He left the NFL because he didn't like NFL egos and enjoyed working with college kids a lot more. Unless you think that college suddenly all changed in the past two years I do not see your point. Complacency has always been an issue, college kids now have pretty much the same attitude they always have.

I don't think Saban will be coaching in 6 years, but to this authors conclusions are idiotic. Hell even the OP pretty much said the same thing.

Please explain how the authors opinion that Saban will eventually retire because of the discontent with players egos an the generational gap is not a valid opinion.
A "valid opinion" that term is about as subjective as you can get..and subjectives are what you normally deal in.
