I'm sure he does. He usually comes of as grumpy in his interviews to say the least. But he has learned that he can't be a dick 100% of the time. i would love to see what people would think if he came out and said what he really felt.

Spring is different. only guys who want to be there are freshmen and 3rd and 4th stringers trying to make a name

The Montgomery Advertiser is terrible, and you should feel terrible for quoting it.

Are you as shocked when bama fans start threads on Auburn? or is it less of a surprise, since it happens so often?

Saban will hang up his whistle is because he’s coaching a generation of players that don’t fall in line easily

So this "generation" has changed in the last two years?? B/c two years ago a group of this generation was back to back NCs.

Article is right on track with Monkey-town quality. I don't like everything Alabama does but, seriously to put some of that in print and then a sports editor approved publishing it, is borderline yellow J.

Cecil Hurt of The Tuscaloosa News has a little different take on what he said....and he'd know better......

"Now, while he would prefer that last season had ended differently, Saban is coaching a team on a losing streak — a modest two games, though it hardly feels modest to a coach that had not lost back-to-back games in five years. The last time it happened, in 2008, Saban turned it into an undefeated BCS title run. The 2009 team played with a purpose, and even as the 2014 season has barely begun, it is obvious that Saban is seeking to instill that sense of purpose — and maturity — once again."

Montgomery is unapologetic Auburn country. This is about as surprising as waking up and seeing the sun out.

Montgomery Adver. Is a South Alabama- API rag.

It's no wonder printed newspapers are waning.

Whats the different take. Both articles suggest saban wants players to mature

ETA. a lot of bashing the article. all it did was quote saban's press conference and make a small opinion at the end.

I don't believe those reports from any school. Last time I heard reports of players focused was from Mccarron during sugar bowl practices.

"I truly believe the main reason Saban will hang up his whistle is because he’s coaching a generation of players that don’t fall in line easily and want to define their own destiny.

It’s a clash of egos, personalities and generations. If this keeps up, Alabama better build a bigger doghouse."

....so fresh dog shite and roses are the same because they both have distinct odors.
