I truly believe the main reason Saban will hang up his whistle is because he’s coaching a generation of players that don’t fall in line easily and want to define their own destiny. It’s a clash of egos, personalities and generations. If this keeps up, Alabama better build a bigger doghouse."
^^^ is the issue. Where the hell does that even come from...not even the retirement part but "clash of egos?" - yea right; are you saying Sabans ego isn't bigger than a 18-21 year old? "Personalities and generations?" - see 21-0 and 42-14 from the same generation. This what some would call yellow journalism or in some circles making huge assumptions and guessed based off personal wishes

We can only hope that it is true. If it is, then basically the inmates will be running the asylum.

You really are delusional. I'd expect nothing less from you. Again can you show me where the op or author of the article touched you?

Wait so you have an issue with someone making a valid opinion on Sabans retirement that he formed from statements Saban made?
You honestly don't know where the ego stamens came from?
And your yellow journalism comment
Seriously there isn't anyhing here. By please continue to make something out of absolutely nothing. I have feeling it's more about the fact that allin posted the article.

Please explain how the authors opinion that Saban will eventually retire because of the discontent with players egos an the generational gap is not a valid opinion.

I guess it is valid. Idiotic, but valid.

The amount of Bama butthurt in this thread is awesome. Never change, WalMart Nation.

Are you included the wins he had taken away by the NCAA for violating rules and landing his university on probation?
Those five wins taken away make so much difference, right? Fine. He's 74-15 at Alabama.
Every projection is based on past experience. Saban's is just more extensive. Sure he's going to retire and likely sooner rather than later, but it won't be because of today's youth. He deals with that every spring and fall camp. The entire precipice of this article is based on one quote. Yet, chooses to overlook multiple press conferences where he praised the progress this spring.

So the basis of the article(imature players and egos) hasn't been an issue at all for alabama?

Sure it has. But that's the same everywhere.
quote:
"First day in pads is always a little more challenging, a little more difficult, tests everyone's mettle a little bit," Saban said. "Obviously, makes it easy to see the guys that overcome a little adversity and continue to execute, do their job, have the discipline to pay attention to detail. Some of the other guys obviously have to mature a little bit more.
"The attitude toward that has been very good. I'm pleased, but obviously we've got a long way to go. We have a lot of positions with a lot of players to get more players who can play winning football."

Obviously talking about Kiffin
I imagine Lane isn't loving life under Saban Rule right now. IDK, the guy may be humbled and ready to accept guidance and instruction from one of the best in the business. But, "if" the spoiled rotten, immature Lane of old is raising his ugly head, then he better get his punk arse in line or GTFO.

Yes but it has been a hot topic with your fanbase for a few months now. Saban has made several comments about the subject as well.
What would say if auburn fans bashed an author in 2011 for saying auburn wouldn't win because they had a young team

Struggling is one thing. We saw youth and immaturity bite Alabama in 2010 and the end of 2013. But retirement? That's an entirely different argument. And there's no basis for it.

Because you don't want there to be, but there absolutely is.
The author didn't go crazy but he has a valid opinion. That's also based upon precedent(from other coaches).

No, that's what you apparently want. It was one quote. That's basically the same every spring and fall camp. Why is it an issue now?
