this as a tongue in cheek comment,
quote:

"[Muschamp]'s like the other guy, only he's got a personality," Davis said. "He'll smile at you. He'll talk to you. You understand? That's what he's all about. That's Will. I'm proud to work for him."
More like a kick in the balls.

Lol what a baby bitch. He would have been better to remain quiet about it and let his friends in the media do his bidding.

This really is stupid, across the board. Those comments were made at a booster club gathering, not in front of any national media. The Old Ball Coach was famous/infamous for many of his comments bout Tenn, Ga, Fla. St at the same kind of gatherings. He even mocked Peyton, Tenn's Tim Tebow. It was said as a joke in front of bunch of fans who no doubt had had more than a few sips of adult beverages. I am no fan of Nicky's, but taking him at his word, which is hard to do sometimes when they are media related, I give him credit for saying the right thing in this case. I'm sure he was asked bout this as opposed to bringing it up on his own.

Yup. Sounded like he just woke up and sounded really sad. He seems like a miserable person.

I think it is awesome how any news story about Alabama or Saban, no matter the content riles up our opposing fanbases. Everyone feels the need to come out and try and drop The Tide down a peg or two.

People get so sick of the same team being on top. Oh well Alabama fans, learn to just smile when this kind of thing happens. Because it is going ot happen a lot

If Davis is smart, he'll apologize. The whole thing is blown out of proportion, but one small thing remains - Davis said something negative about a fellow coach and his old boss. And it's not about calling him "the devil himself", it's when you take it in context with the next part - his description of Muschamp, which implies that Saban does NOT do those things.

It's a minor issue, and the world will keep on spinning either way. But if I were Davis, regardless of how I felt about Saban, I'd say "Of course I did not mean this as a slight to Nick Saban. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to coach under him. My main point was that I am happy to be coaching under Will Muschamp, and this is my focus."

Oh get over yourself. The shitshow flaming happens to every team on here minus Vandy and Kentucky. You really wanna get into a pissing contest over who gets flamed more on this board between AU and UA?

It is a fact that whenever a team wins a lot of championships the everyone gets polarized. I'm not saying it has anything to due with the fact that it is Alabama.

People hated Florida after they won two. People hated the Lakers even more than normal when they had Kobe and Phil. Hell even the Bulls got the hate. With them i would say it was probably more split because so many people loved Jordan. I won't bring up the Yankees because everyone loves to hate on them all the time. Same with USC, I know people don't usually like them anyway but it was viscous when they were doing their thing in the early 2000's. Patriots a few years ago, the list goes on and on.

ETA: we also had two 30 page threads earlier this week, one about the scheduling, and one with the title "is alabama a dynasty". They were both started on the same day.

What the guy said was in bad taste if taken seriously but it shouldn't' be taken seriously. The correct response from Saban should have been "you can't take something like that seriously" or "you'd waste your time if you took a comment like that seriously"

Yep. Apparently this offseason is going as poorly for Nick as it is for the SECR.

I think its great that a lot of Alabama fans refer to him as God, but everyone else calls him the Devil.

Is there anything this man cant do?
