That's why Bama was able to contain Chubb for most of the 2015 game -- they prepped for him,

uhh, no. They contained chubb because they were a defensive unit built straight from a video game.

I get the mindset of preparing for different people. Obviously teams would scheme us different for David Greene than they would for DJ Shockley when we used them both. But I think it's also a joke to think that sony was breaking all those tackles and making all those cuts because the defense was expecting chubb instead.

Agree. Just an absurd idea.

Not buying this at all. Its scheme and talent advantages that shuts the run down for bama. Their front 7 is dominant.

Yes, the front 7 was, and probably will be again, dominant. But to think they didn't prep specifically for Chubb is naive at best. They didn't just go, "Oh, we rule. Chubb is screwed no matter what." Thinking they did shows a lack of respect for Chubb on your part, to say nothing of theirs. They look at the player -- be it Chubb, Hurd, Fournette or Collins -- and identify his style (downhill, side to side, etc), his tendencies (hit the hole fast, stutterstep, go left, go right, fake blocking, etc) and how well his skillset allows him to execute various potential points of attack. Not doing that is an excellent way for your "dominant front 7" to get embarrassed. That's just how football works, as anyone who has ever played it should know. (Granted, I was basically on the pine most of the time, but I did have to attend all meetings.)

Yep. Except it was his right leg and he was on a motorcycle. My best friend Tray from HS married Ron's wife's sister. Ron lived in Country Club of the South at that time and I used to play golf with him and Tray a few times a year. I remember when that happened. If I recall it was in the winter before the season started. He had a Mardi Gras party at his house a few weeks after he broke it that I went to with Tray and his wife. After he got traded to St Louis, I loved when the Cards came to town because the visiting players families had a block of tickets right behind home plate about 15 rows up. Tons wife always got 4 and would give 2 of them to me and Tray. Good times.

Glad to see he has a decent gig with Good Day Atlanta. His family milked him dry of his money during his career and he was hurting pretty good after his divorce.
