Cap One's problem is they took Nebraska last year. They have to take Neb or Northwestern this year. A&M played Northwestern last year so that has very little appeal and it leads to rumors of taking someone else to match up with the B1G choice.

But I don't buy it. So what if Nebraska went to Orlando last year? Just the Nebraska fans already in Florida probably outnumber the entire Northwestern fanbase. You hold your nose and take them two years in a row because NW is a terrible draw imo.

if this matchup happens then Clemson might be the first school in history to give up 70+ points in back to back bowls.

I like the Clemson-A&M matchup. Ags get to play a third time after a good home-and-home series with them in '04 and '05.

yeah, It's not like it's a rule or anything, bowls just prefer not to do it. I think they'll end up taking Nebraska because it just seems too obvious but an effort not to have 2 years in a row is why this rumor is flying.

As long as Johnny wins the trophy, i'll be happy no matter what. We lost at home home twice and are not getting a BCS bowl bid, so getting to play in the Georgia Dome against a good opponent is a win-win.

Nothing you can do about all the butthurtness and sore vaginas in the Big 12-2-2+2 lobbying against the Ags. They're making asses out of themselves.

Nobody is lobbying against you, there are 2 teams better than you in your own division, 4-5 teams over all in the conference, hence you likely playing your bowl in this calender year.

You don't think the cotton bowl committee is drooling over a Texas/A&M matchup? Taking them over LSU who has the same record has plenty of precedent.

Only thing stopping this is Big 12 butt-hurt.

We can't all be ranked in the top 7, Dale. You should know this.

Now run along, child.

You really need to stop being a jackass troll.

The Cotton chairman confirmed on the radio Friday that there absolutely are Big 12 teams lobbying against us getting the Cotton.

actually while the horns have lobbied the Cotton Bowl not to do it, Slive and A&M are also lobbying against the Cotton even if it's OU. Apparently the SEC internals suggested it was a bad move brand wise. They want us to distinguish ourselves away from the Big 12 wherever possible.

Do you really believe the Cotton wants any team more than A&M, atleast if JFF wins the Heisman? You could make an argument for LSU, but we've received Cotton Bowl bids before when there were Big 12 teams with better records.

I like the Chick-Fil-A bid. We lost at home twice, so i understand where A&M finished in the conference. No tin foil hats here either. There are some Big 12 schools that don't want A&M in the Cotton.

And aTm saying they want no part of playing a big12 team in the Cotton bowl.

The Cotton Bowl gets to pick, and there are plenty of teams ranked ahead of you to choose from.

Question: Why the frick doesn't the Cotton Bowl want Texas vs. Texas A&M? That would get HUGE ratings.

on the bright side, it's about the only way A&M fans will get to see what the inside of the GA dome looks like...

Because aTm doesn't want to play in the Cotton Bowl against a big12 team this close to being removed from that conference.

The cotton bowl probably wants.

aTm does not want.

Texas does not want.
