Yep.

No one has the balls to tell them they're just college kids playing a game. I am an Alabama alumnus and former walk on, but the Tide can lose every game from the Rose Bowl to the end of time if it requires me giving a dime to the cause.

I enjoying watching college football on TV and talking about sports in general - and that's about it. I don't contribute to any funds (least of all NIL), buy merchandise, and (although not a opposed to it) have not been to a game in years. I will continue to spend my money on other things.

People take too much pride in college football. Go set a new bench press PR or something.

That’s what it has come to! Let them be humbled or put up or shut up!

I SAY, have it performance driven & if injured, get a certain % of it.

OR

There’s a new “semi1pro league” the ROCK is behind called the “UFL” maybe??

but as it stands for NIL, college needs to have a cap with much more rules

and to be honest, they should have a certain % off the top of ALL NIL money to go back into each team that is equally divided by “the practice squad backups” who currently receive no NIL money.

These prima-Donna’s are too stupid to realize that they need practice teams to “get better” and compete.

And how is it fair if they have million dollar amateur contracts & common folk in the locker room are treated like peasants.

The entire system sucks!

Tons of money for everyone to benefit, but this is a double standard as it stands.

While we at it & are in this Obama Utopian society, let’s carve up all pro sport contract money & NIL & equally divide it with women’s sports athletes.

In their world, HOW FAIR IS THIS set-up???

So done with sports, it’s out of hand!

I think there is a big gap between actual market value and what is being reported. I’m sure there are some outliers, but I doubt most of these NIL numbers being thrown around are accurate. You can’t support these with a go fund me type NIL, unless you have several extremely deep pocketed supporters. But there are some legitimate NIL opportunities for the top recruits benefitting both athlete and businesses. Not necessarily national chains, but large corporations with local ties to the university and region. NILs will continue to evolve and become more creative.

Let them go play in the UFL. There is no requirement for them to be in college to play football anymore.

I don’t disagree. I believe a scholarship towards an education is pretty substantial compensation. Maybe a portion of any merchandising sales. But we are beyond that. NIL demands will continue to rise. athletic programs will need to get creative to support NIL. There are options but they aren’t unlimited.

Scholarships are about to be done with and I think it's going to happen sooner than people believe. Players will be employees.

It is to the point that people will believe any and all rumors about NIL payouts, even though I have yet to see an actual signed NIL contract anywhere.

I also believe a lot of the figure$ we hear are fantasy attempts by market makers, but there is a lotta real money going around that is well documented.
