I disagree with this part. Look man, he's been on video too drunk to walk, assistants aren't in control, recruits bailing along with starters and active players, weak records, etc. The west isn't getting easier. Add in top of that player conduct and its just not something that shouldn't be wiped clean and start over.

As a Tiger fan, I hope he stays...but as a outsider looking in, he's been a constant weak leader

Becoming more evident by the minute now, that Sumlin's and A&M's recent return to glory was entirely on the shoulders of one player, Manziel.

For a school that stresses loyalty as much as A&M its a real surprise to see them like this.

I don't know why you would say that. We have had a history of giving coaches bad extensions (the worst was Fran) at bad times.

Hell I will still defend the decision when we made it to give Sumlin $5 million a year when USC was sniffing around him. It would have sucked getting a new coach the same year as Texas, and that 2014 recruiting class (which was the best A&M has had since the 1990s) would have have been flushed away. The mistake was to make his buyout such a pain in the arse, we should have paid him $5.5 million or even $6 million plus a reasonable buyout. At the time we were too worried about HIS buyout if he went to USC or the NFL.

The sad truth is that Sumlin is above our average as far as A&M coaches go. I love that everyone here dogs on him, that is their subconscious way of letting us know they expect more from us then a person can rationally expect given our history. It proves despite Sumlin squarding the JFF momentum that the SEC move changed our program forever, and maybe some future coach can take advantage of that.

Maybe, but the resources, infrastructure, and fan support is in place. We just need the final pieces. We have a host of other programs and local media doing all possible to prevent it, so we have an up-hill battle.

Kevin Sumlin is still riding the wave of that victory over Alabama in Bryant-Denny four years ago. Beyond that single game, he really hasn't accomplished anything of significance. At best A&M goes 6-6 this year. They will be looking for a new coach at the end of the season.

Two years ago I thought Sumlin could turn that team around, but the real mastermind around his offense has been Kingsbury (Houston, TAMU, and now Texas Tech). I said this the other day, but if they keep the defensive staff and Kingbury cleans house on the offensive side, TAMU will be a b**ch to play against.

All this league schadenfreude displayed at the expense of our down-trodden Little Brother makes me sad. It is precisely at times like this, after years and even decades of Aggie futility and soul-crushing defeats, that Big Brother should look to help Little Brother, to uplift Little Brother, to help him find his way out of the abyss.

I for one look forward to the day that Aggie has something, anything to feel secure about. Think about how much better we will all be when Little Brother sheds all this insecurity and jealousy and ventures out into the world with a full load of Institutional testosterone, like a fully-grown man? Imagine how proud we will be when Little Brother is able to wait for the school bus on his own, without Big Brother having to hold his hand?

I am on your side, Little Brother.

The timing of the Johnny Manziel era in College Station was so perfect. It coincided with their entry to the SEC when everyone predicted they would get blown away by the competition. Manziel brings them some big wins and media attention that deludes the fanbase and inflates their ego sky high. They never actually challenge for a spot in the SEC Champ game during this time frame, fail to defeat LSU who they obsess over, and then spiral into hilarious destitution. Watching their fanbase go from shite talking this board incessantly to being an undeniable shitshow has been rather entertaining. They were soooo hyped about how big an occurrence it was when they pulled Speedy. Another constant boast that they used for YEARS as a sign of their impending rise. Man, life comes at you fast, huh Aggies?
