Yeah. REAL humiliating.
Humiliating isn't the right word. This state is fairly polarized on this. Some of the names being tossed around as being involved probably don't want to lose half the state in business.

I always thought "Rose Bowl" was 'Gene' of Miss State board fame. I thought Gene himself wrote that infamous post about State's 2001 upcoming season.

Because whenever there was a problem with USM or MSU their names were dragged through the mud by your fans and the Clarion Ledger. But MSU voluntarily released those names as there are consequences when boosters get involved in recruiting.
Now Ole Miss has like 2 dozen freaking boosters going crazy and your school is trying to cover for them. Why? Why does a school want to protect names of rogue boosters except maybe they might need them again later? By the way, notice how uninterested the Clarion Ledger is about this investigation now that it's Ole Miss.
Steve Robertson only broke this story because as he said the state newspapers wanted nothing to do with it. Which proves my points from two years ago that the media in this state is biased when anything Ole Miss. They claim the potential of losing advertisement dollars if they go too hard. What a joke lol.

Gene and Rose Bowl are way too involved as fans. One lost his job and the other lost his wife because of their fandom. I've always considered Gene a good guy that just let his fandom get too much of him. Rose Bowl is the scum of the earth. I think he lives in Baton Rouge, FWIW.

Yeah, those people as you said, don't know a single player. Those aren't the ones doing favors for players. Hello, they don't even know who they are, how could they? If you spend your day on a message board you are an obsessed fan. Obsessed fan's priorities are out of line and they certainly love their program enough to know the players they cheer for and would do favors for them at the drop of a hat.

Man, no one outside the State gives a shite about our two schools. Outside two or three columnists who write about us on slow news days, no one really cares. We cheated, we will be punished, the world will move on. The allegations in the first NOA were enough to hobble our program. But some folks are too damn obsessed to just let it end.
