Saban has already advised him to submit his papers for a draft evaluation.

Ahem:

As for the possibility of entering the NFL Draft as a junior, McClain said he is not giving the decision due thought until after UA’s game with Texas. He also said he has yet to file a letter with the NFL Draft Advisory Board, which provides feedback to college underclassmen to help them make an informed decision on early NFL Draft entry.

“I haven’t sent it. Coach (Nick) Saban advised me to do it, just in case, but I haven’t done it (yet),” McClain said.

I love when fools get made to look like the fools they are. "Work with Saban" my arse...

Do you know what Saban advised Ro to do? I bet you don't. Once Ro declares he is coming back you will look petty weak. Mark it.

As weak as you look right now?

First you declared you work with Saban and know McClain.

Then you told me I was 100% wrong for saying Saban had already advised him to turn in his advisory papers (which I then proved conclusively)

Now you are attempting to spin THAT into an implication that Saban is privately advising him to stay, which flys in the face of what Saban has publicly declared is his advice to anyone who is a top 15 projection.

I wouldn't be shocked it he came back, but the odds are definitely against it. Right now, what is he supposed to say? He's focused on this season. When it's over, Saban will tell him he should go, he'll see how much money he'll get, and most likely decide to enter the draft.

There's always the possibility that a guy like Ro, who just loves to play, and loves his coach and teammates, will decide to stay for his last year in what he considers to be the best experience of his life. I'd love it, but if he were injured how bad would we all feel? Of course, he could get an insurance policy before the season that would reimburse him pretty well. Also, what are the odds of a career-ending type injury? Not very high.

While I say all that, I still think he's gone. We'll be ok without him with Hightower back along with Nico, Harris, Upshaw, Patrick, Atchison, and the incoming recruits.

Devils...watch and see my friend. Just do me a favor...bump this thread around Feb. and tell me I look weak.

Ro I coming back. As far as what Saban has told Ro...well I will let him tell you that. All I can say is that you will be giving me:

Heres the thing...Ro could come back. But you've been shown pretty conclusively in this thread to not really KNOW anything, no matter how badly you insinuate "inside connections".

There are two options:
1) He'll come back
2) He'll leave

Correctly GUESSING the answer is no cause for back slapping.

Any Bama fan that is wanting to R.M. to come back is a selfish bitch. This guy has given us his all and it is time to move to the next level. One injury and his $$$ fly's out the window. This guy comes from EXTREME poverty. It's time for him to go....

I am not guessing. When Ro makes his decision public (and he has made his decision) you will see. You will hear exactly what Saban told him. I could tell you...but then I would be called a liar here and possibly lose my job. But you will see. And when Ro tells you why he is coming back you will have much more respect for him not only as a player...but as a person.

+1

Ro is great and I've thoroughly enjoyed everything he brings to the University but he needs to go so he don't risk getting hurt and costing himself millions.

1) Saban already told Ro to file his papers.

2) Sam Bradford will have a lot of juniors, especially ones that are looking to be a top 10 or top 5 draft pick, thinking twice about NOT declaring. It will be interesting if Bama loses the NCG. If they win he'd be stupid to stay.

Guys...you totally misread Ro. You guys think his heart is playing NFL. It is not. All I can say is watch. That is all I can say. You guys will be surprised and then maybe understand Ro a bit better.

That's fine. If he comes from such extreme poverty, then getting his degree may be a bigger deal to him so he has something to fall back on when football is over. He'll likely be the first person in his family with a degree so a lot of times that is more important than money. HOWEVER, if in the opening game against PSU next year Ro gets rolled up on and blows out his knee it will be the single dumbest mistake he's EVER made. You can always go back and finish your degree. You can't always get $20 million guaranteed. I don't think the decision is a easy as you want it to be.

Oh I understand him just fine. I know he has slept on floors because his mother couldn't afford a bed. I know he has worked at McDonald's while going to high school to help pay his family's utility bill. I'm sure he loves the University but there is no way in hell he stays. His family needs the money.

Ok, assuming you're right, do you think it would be the right decision? I understand that Ro's heart is not totally in the NFL but he should jump at the chance and play 4-5 years just to get millions of dollars and then he can do whatever. If I were him, I wouldn't risk the chance of getting hurt and costing myself millions.
