I posted the rule, it is actually exactly 10 yards between the inside edges of each pole. Hence the reason you will see an index card pulled out from time to time. Gary Danielson was just making the situation worse as he likes to do.

Doesn't matter, gamecocks whooped our defense all night. Time to move on and focus on getting to Atlanta.

Who cares if the calls were wrong? The referees gave Aaron Murray credit for a touchdown he really did not score in the Auburn game last year, and your team still lost

And Murray scored too...but I digress. Wilds got the 1st on his 3rd down run anyways...3/4ths of his body was across teh 50.

Who cares if it was intentional grounding(it looks like it), you have the best back in the country and you try to get fancy with it at the end of the game? Blame yourselves.

I think it was just one of those calls that could literally be argued both ways to death.

And I know CMR (understandably) tried, but there is no reviewing that. It's just not possible.

True. The referees have a few seconds to make decisions. League offices can tear film apart to determine a correct call. Bad calls happen to everybody, and generally they even out. It cost us in this game. Hopefully it will even out later in the season. All the finger pointing and arguing in the world doesn't change the call or make us the winner. It goes down as a "W" for South Carolina. Time to move on and look to the next 2 1/2 months of football we have left.

Let's face it. The refs sucked balls both ways.

1.Gurley should've had the personal foul when he headbutted our player, not us. At the very minimum, offsetting fouls. Y'all ended up scoring on drive when this happened on a 3rd down.

2.We had a phantom clipping call, after yall intercepted a ball. That's right...after. WTF? We aren't blocking for anyone then.

I agree with UGA fans that the refs sucked all around that game but it went both ways

Murray did score. There is a pretty clear picture of the ball over the line with his knee still in the air....not that it matters anymore. Trigga Tray is an Auburn Tiger now. Maybe you guys can teach him how to bat a ball down.

Melvin Ray on what he says to raz S Tray Matthews: “We don’t tip balls here."

However, sources familiar with the communications between the two parties indicate that there should have been no penalty on the play.

lulz .... that's the pat answer to all of Richt's inquiries?

The league office officially responds that the calls were correct ... but UGA issues the "sources familiar with communications between the two parties ..."

If Saban tried to argue this you'd call him a crybaby and accuse Bama of trying to cheat and change the rules.

"The SEC office is in Birmingham!"

Move on. Georgia had plenty of chances to win and pissed it away. It's kind of sad, frankly.

In all seriousness, I would love to see a link for a first down being the final link. I posted the rule that I found, and I can't find anything about the links. It only mentions the inside edges of the poles being exactly 10 yards apart.

You do realize that it is pretty standard for coaches to get clarification on calls that took place during their game? It just usually isn't public. Happens every week.

I'll see if I can dig it up. It was floating around after the game last year.
