We didn't bring tons to the Chicken Bowl. New Years night, getting shite on by the gumps at the SEC home office (again) and wallowing in self pity about CLM and his on game decisions made for a less than enthusiastic team and fan base. Florida wasn't up for a mid week game against Louisville. I get it. The Gumps weren't flooding the streets of Nola when they lost to Utah and its half the distance. Just sayin. As for UT -beat Vandy again before talking shite!

Hold up. Attendance was 71,800+

And 90% of that was Alabama because Utah only brought a corner's worth of fans.

Alabama doesn't have fan travel problems. LSU fans ought to know better considering Alabama outnumbered you on 1/9.

Finished 3rd in BCS poll and gave zero fricks about the Sugar Bowl. It was the big game or bust, and we took Louisville about as serious as Mizzou.
Couple that with the fact that we are a spoiled fanbase who is also dealing with 4-5 years of tough economic times and it leads to a poor turnout by the fans and a bad performance by the team.

The Wednesday game was the deal breaker for me. If it had been on the weekend I would have been able to go.

You idiots are under the impression that Gator fans only live in the Panhandle???

This.

Can't believe I'm sticking up for a gator but I grew up in Pensacola and it was a shorter drive to Chicago than it was to Miami. Still doesnt excuse the moronic statement of FL and LA being "neighboring states".

The problem is that there aren't many games bigger than a Sugar Bowl.

Shame on your fanbase for not understanding that.

In the last 20 years, UF has been to 7 Sugar Bowls, 2 BCS Championship games, 2 Orange Bowls and a Fiesta Bowl, it really isn't that big a deal to go these major bowl games. The matchup wasn't that exciting to most, it was midweek and people decided not to go, not a big deal.

The Gators athletic department was unable to sell its allotment of 17,500 tickets. There was a sizable amount of unsold tickets.
Anyone else shocked by this? I'm utterly stunned. This is really a mystery for the ages. Florida has always had such diehard fans. Just look at the Panthers, Rays, Marlins, Heat, and Jaguars.

Florida had a consecutive sellout streak dating back to 1979 that was just snapped, largely because the visiting team was late in returning unsold tickets. It was the 4th longest in the nation and longest by far in the SEC.

To compare UF to those teams is ridiculous.

Dont worry. i think the bowls noticed. you probably wont get invited back if you didnt play in your conference championship game.

And you wont have to cry about the problems of a rich man.

Look, I'll just admit that LSU fans are fair weather when it comes to bowl games if you do the same about UF. Deal?

Bama fans aren't because they're just weird and overly psychotic when it comes to Bama football.

Anyone saying it was outweighed heavily one way or another is kidding themselves.

Wanna go back any farther? We own that arse, and dig all up in it every single fall :nohomo:

Ok let's go to a rivalry that started in 1904, and what about that game in 1942? Something like 75-0, that's owning isn't it?
