It expires after the 2017 season and won't be renewed.

Fire him now = Owe remainder of contract

Let contract run out = Owe nothing

The results of this season won't change regardless of who the coordinators are. SUMLIN is still the coach.

You'll be paying him the remainder of the contract whether he coaches or not, so the money is a wash. The only "cost" of getting rid of him now would be whatever you had to pay for a interim DC, which would probably be nothing since you would likely promote a current assistant as a placeholder until after the season.

I would agree but do you really want to watch 3rd and Chavis all season? At least send him home and have an assistant step up. It can't be any worse than last night.

All BS aside, Ron Cooper is one of the best secondary coaches in the country. Promoting him wouldn't be a bad idea

It sure showed last night, as he started Deshawn Capers-shite at nickel (the one who tried to pick off the TD pass instead of batting it down)

Give up almost 500 yards passing and the guy who coached Peterson, Claiborne, Mathieu, and Simon is in charge of the DBs?

Yeah, safe to say they're doing something wrong.

ATM does have a lot of money. Truthfully if they could ever get their crap together it would be Bama and ATM fighting it out. Lots of money resources and a talent pool to pull from and don't have to leave their own borders

A&M has always had a lot of money and the state of Texas to recruit from. What do they have to show for it?
