Stop. Just Stop. We get it, it's bad, it's atrociously bad, but they can't control who they play because these schedules were set before the playoff was even a thing. I hate OSU almost as much as Texas or Florida State, but every opportunity that they have been given recently to play a good team, they have won convincingly. I keep hearing "if they were in the SEC...."
Stop, bad argument. Based on what anyone has seen from this OSU team, is there any conference in America they wouldn't have a good chance of running through like water? I'm hoping an SEC team bounces them this year in the playoffs, but as of right now they are proven.

i love the "if they were in the SEC" argument. A&M came into the SEC and went 10-2 and beat bama.

I don't like it either, but then again, it's more about the gauntlet and wear and tear than the advantage of said team. Take a look at 2009 Alabama. 12-10 vs. Tennessee in the 4th and if Tennessee makes it, say bye bye to Alabama's championship. But, the FG is blocked and Alabama wins. Afterward, Nick Saban noted how beat up they were going in. It's more or less an argument about the GAUNTLET than the individual team strength.

Trade OSU and ARK schedules and conference affiliations. OSU still does well cause they are a very good team. May lose a game, may not. ARK looks like a championship team because of the weak schedule they just played in the B1G.

This is what people are talking about. It sucks, but literally nothing can be done to change it. Hope someone can trip them up or they don't take a game seriously enough and slip

I remember that like it was yesterday. What a devastating year that was for Bama.

To the "physical play" argument, there are a lot of really physical teams in the B1G. Iowa, Nebraska, Wisky, Minny, OSU, MSU, Michigan PSU etc all play physical football.

Absolutely OSU's schedule is bad. They can't do anything about the 8 conference games, and scheduled a team who was top 15 quality annually when they got put onto the schedule. The old rule was schedule 1 "good" team and play a conference schedule. It may turn into 2 Power 5 teams and a 9 game conference schedule, which I would support

They play in a major conference, they play one big 5 team on the road. It is not their fault the Big 10 sucks. They are the defending champions. Schedule means nothing.

Starting a thread about it to talk about it more while telling others to stop talking about it- that makes great sense.

If you look up our future schedules you'll see that Ohio State has done that. Next year we go to 9 conference games and the following year we begin having a home and away game every season against two P5 teams.

They would be 1-0 right now and would go somewhere between 10-2 and 12-0 with that charmin soft schedule.

Arkansas would go 11-1 against that schedule. Kentucky would go 9-3.

That being said, Ohio State would still be the favorite to win the SEC IMO.

0-1, with an 8-4 finish. Maybe.

I meant nationally not just for OSU. The SEC doesn't have a 9 game schedule in the works yet, and I don't think they have gone away from FCS schools (I don't mind 1 if that helps schools stay in business myself).

The SEC has the toughest conference slate, but I am all for everyone having the same schedule criteria. If they want to water it down play weaker power 5 teams like Indiana or Wake

Virginia Tech will finish 7-5 in the ACC. Those guys are not that good. They lost 6-3 (IN DOUBLE OVERTIME) to Wake last year.

I said this yesterday; VT was ranked 35 by Athlon. I'm not saying that is accurate but let's assume it is close (30-40). VT would be favored over top 25 teams at night at home. You give a home team 3 usually, and a good home field advantage 6 or so
