Agree on Regular Season. Your pitching staff faced almost every other team and emerged victorious. It's a little overshadowed as the tourney starts a week after you win the title.
The tourney is way to rushed, situational and haphazard. But it's good mental preparation for what's to come.

Regular season. Give me 26-3 over a season vs 4-1 over a week any day.

oleyeller, I do hope you are trolling? Winning the conference by having the best record after 30 league games vs getting hot on one wkend & winning 4 games against teams not using their whole staff??? Skip used to start his worst pitcher & use subs through out the tourney to rest up his starters for the games that really mattered. And he only won 5 NC doing it this way. The team earns a trophy & the players & staff get championship rings for winning the league championship. Course, I realize UT was lucky get in the tourney, coming no where near winning the league itself, so I can see where the tourney is something to the vols.

Umm yea I do believe a regular season title based on a 30 game sec schedule is a lot more to celebrate than a 5 game can you get lucky sec tournament.. sorry

Nothing to show for it? aTm is not done by a long stretch. Hosting a regional. Some baseball yet left to play. Alabama, on the other hand is done.
