Reg season seems like it would be the better of the two but winning the tournament can give a team the much needed boost in confidence or momentum heading into the post season. Thoughts

Regular season, all day everyday. Playing 5 games the week before regionals isn't a good thing.

If you need the tournament championship, then it's most important

There's no such thing as "regular season" champs. The trophy says conference champs.

regular season?? 
thats like giving a participation award. A regular season champ means nothing, if it did then why have the sec tourny. The tournament champ is the real champ.

why didnt i think it through? Because tn has won reg season championship before? I dont care, thats nothing to celebrate. You dont play for regular season champ. Thats a joke that shouldnt even be noted.

A bottom feeder like Tennessee could win the tourney in theory.... 30 game regular season determines true champion.

Both are meaningless at LSU unless you get to Omaha....bar is high and should be.

both are pretty prestigious. however, they normally only dogpile for the tourney. that must mean something.

I would say regular season because of the prestige of owning it over a course of months vs one week. Same goes for basketball. Title goes down simply and authoritatively as "SEC Champions". Pretty damn prestigious.
LSU will be fine, national seed locked up (possibly the #1 seed) and an arm saved for the regionals. Would have been a notch in the belt to win the tourney, but this team has bigger goals in mind. Anything less than a CWS finals appearance would probably be a disappointment with this team after the season they've had.
That said, congrats on the big win, and take it to A&M today!

Whoops! I was on vaca last couple days, thought the Ags made the finals for some reason. That's great news!
