Once football bans all forms of physicality (which will come soon) it's popularity will wane across large chunks of the country. Certain places, like Texas and the Deep South, will continue to love it (and probably fight changes), but nationally kids will stop playing it more and more and move to other sports.

I like football and love college football, but the HOT TAKE non-stop ESPN headline nature of it (NFL and CFB) is just too much to take these days.

CFB just seems to bring out the worst of any teams fanbase in the SEC.

That sinking feeling when you are at a concert/festival and someone approaches you because of the hat you are wearing. I know you love Auburn, but I don't want to have a fricking 20 minute discussion about how bad we will suck now that Dak has left. No I don't know if Ole Miss is going to get penalized severely.

Dude, just don't wear the stupid hat.

Not only are they not cool and make you look like a total hick, they kind of advertise that you want to talk about your sports program.

It's just a baseball cap.

...that apparently attracts unwanted attention.

You do realize that you're not required to wear "baseball" caps, right?

I don't even know why people even wear those things. Hell, half the time THEY don't know why they wear them...

Yes, the whole not lead with your head or targeting is ruining football. It's not the same sport it used to be when they take out the big hits. Best part of the game imo.

Players didn't lead with their heads in the leather helmet days either. As a matter of fact, you rarely left your feet on defense in those days. Kids nowadays turn themselves into ballistic missiles thinking they're invulnerable.

Plastic armor has ruined football.

I agree but as seen people believe football is king and they take it as an objective fact.

Baseball is an acquired taste though there are people who can't stand it and people who love it. I'm the latter.

For me baseball > football.

Or you could be representing your alma mater? You're pretty off beat saying wearing your colors makes you look like a hick.

it's hangout ball. The defense stands around 95% of the time, you get to wear a ballcap, sunglasses, and throw a dip in while you play, the pitcher usually takes his sweet time before doing anything, etc. That doesn't even take into account the offense, where the majority of the team is just sitting around spitting seeds and shooting the breeze for about 30 minutes until it's their turn again. It's boring as shite so yeah, having more games is kinda of crappy

Yeah baseball is so much more than that. Sure guys stand around but if you understand it you can get a lot of enjoyment from it. Keep in mind football isn't much different, you huddle line up wait and than run a play that lasts 3 or 4 seconds. When you add everything up real action lasts about 11 minutes in a 3 hour game. That sounds fun.

Actually if you calculate action time baseball has more action than football.

About 5% of the game in football is action.
About 10% in baseball
About 34% in basketball
About 50% in football (what we call soccer.)

Good thing I didn't say that.

It's the cap that makes you look like a dumb hick, especially when you turn it around and shade your eyes with your hand.

But when you wear your school name on your cap, and don't take it off indoors like a man, you're inviting people to come up to you and discuss sports.

But I know, when you wear one every day, you stop thinking about it, and barely even notice other hicks wearing them. It's when you DON'T wear one that you become aware of all the dumb hicks with baseball caps on.

Cool your jets Aggie.

Your first post did not mention wearing caps like a dumbass. It certainly draws attention to the football team of the school represented on the cap but doesn't necessarily mean a verbal altercation must ensue.

According to your criteria, soccer is better.

what in my post could you have possibly misunderstood to think that I would say soccer is better? My point was that about 90% of baseball there is literally no action happening. Plus the laughable fact you can play this sport while wearing shades and throw in a dip.

I don't really care for soccer, but at least there's constant movement. The ball is always in play and everyone is always moving. Also pretty sure you can't perform at a high level of soccer with a plug of beechnut in.

Actually it did.

They just make a man look like a dumb hick - ESPECIALLY when they wear them indoors. I've been fighting against the dumb southerner stereotype my whole life, you people aren't helping any.

There is less action in football than baseball. You also underestimate the skill it takes to play baseball. Sure some guys may play with dip but that doesn't mean that any average Joe can play it. But this is all subjective, you don't like baseball fine so be it. There are people in the world who like baseball more than football.

I'm one of them, my top 3 LSU sports moments include two baseball moments and one football moment.

#1 Warren Morris
#2 LSU rallies to beat uc Irvine, forcing game 3 of the supers. One more game in the old box. (This almost is number 1 for me there was just something special about that game.
#3 2007 national championship. (Some family history tied up in this if not I would put 2009 baseball championship and 2000 championship in this.)

Find something else to gripe about man. I've never heard anyone say wearing a baseball hat represents the dumb southerner stereotype nor seem anybody get so worked up about utter nonsense.

Actually someone else was griping about people coming up to talk to him because he had a ball cap on.

I just told him to take the stupid cap off as it makes him look like a hick. I'm sorry you look like a hick.

Here, take another look:
