Gotta put Bryles in from Baylor. I don't know if Arky would want a further dive into the spread though.

Bryles would def be the first guy Id go after if I was the Ark AD. His offense is pretty much the same as they have now, recruits the same type of players, and recruites well in TX. Seems like the perfect fit there.

Not really, we'll do a 180 degree hire.

With Ford we had an established HC with a MNC. Fired.

Then an up and comer who turned out to be a run first coach, even tho he was billed as a pro-style offense with the ability to develop a good passing attack. Fired.

Hired a coach who was known to air out the ball, defense was optional. Fired.

The next coach will probably be a defense first guy.

How does Kirby Smart not have a HC gig somewhere, yet? Is he an idiot savant solving defensive schemes like Rainman counting toothpicks, but otherwise thoroughly useless and incapable?

Like previously stated he is waiting on the right job. He is doing the exact same thing that Bob Stoops did when he was at FSU. He turned down multiple jobs because he knew he could and his stock only got higher and look where that landed him.

1) Charlie Strong has gone 7-6 two straight years in an awful Big East. Don't hire him, he's Turner Gill. All the apologists are going to try and sell him to you, don't buy.

Kragthorpe fricked Louisville over pretty good, its amazing Strong had them going 7-6 as quick as he did.

2) Never hire anyone associated with Boise State. When's the last time one of them actually worked out

Us, I guess.

I am not going to focus on current head coaches because I think we will be stuck with an up and comer. so here is Hawgalude's break down 1. Bryan Harsin- since we will not get Chris Petersen from Boise why not hire one of his former assistants? 2. Todd Monken has SEC and NFL experience 3. Kirby Smart- works for the best coach in NCAA football - enough said 4. David Yost- developed some great QBs and knows offense. Great coach. if we can and won't land a home run hire then anyone of those guys appear ready to take a step to the next level. It will be a risk for any coach we take on but if we can not get a top tier coach to come here. I say start anyone of those guys at a 1-2 mil salary and give them a 2-3 year contract.

You still have the worst recruiting base in the SEC. Aggies joining conference made it that much tougher for Arky regardless of Coach.

Yes, let's completely disregard what the past coach did there

Kragthorpe had Louisville at 4-8 in 2009, and Strong came in and immediately brought them up to 7-6... now they're in the top 20 and looking great

Oh and

Like you would fricking know anything about hiring a college football coach. You haven’t a clue about what you post.

If you're referring to Houston Nutt, I wouldn't call him a smashing success

It isn't exactly like there is a huge sample size since they've moved to the FBS level, its him, Dirk Koetter, and Dan Hawkins.

With the money they are talking about throwing around, the 'realistic' list got a little larger. Talk of 2 mil above the current highest paid coach... (don't know if that's just NCAA or includes NFL).

If it was NCAA it would be approximately 6 mil per which is NFL territory anyway.

They need to also break the mold and make the assistants highest paid for each position, this has been severely lacking and when combined with nepotism explains how you end up with Paul Petrino running the offense.
