Go after Holgerson if you don't get him settle for Davis. I think either one of those would be excelent choices and they will noy break the bank. You can use the money saved for good assistants.

I would not cry if we could land Holgerson

How do Razorback fans feel about bounties and an abrasive demeanor hiding behind transition lenses?

"Ya gotta fish hook him to really cause pain and jar that ball loose!"

no troll that is a real list from up and comers off yahoo sports. It looks like good coaches and if any of you all think we are going to have a Petrino type coach land in our laps again, then you are out of your mind.

That is who I would go with if I was Arky's AD.

I think Monken or Smart would be a good up and coming asst to take a chance on.
Monken gives you that offensive philosophy like Petrino.
I don't know how enamored Smart would be having to compete against Saban every year.

It wouldn't shock me to see Fulmer take the reins there. I know Arky fans are in the don't want camp on that, but of what's available, he is the only one with head coaching experience that has won at the highest levels and done it at a place that takes a similar blueprint to Arkansas.

Arkansas should have used their test run on him and see what happens. I think his name will be floated again and maybe 15% chance he nails that job down.

I would have given him two years/4 million total over JLS 1 year/850k total.

Wasting a year on a guy you have no intention of keeping because Names, squandered an excellent opportunity to evaluate Phil. If he flops this season with a relatively known commodity, you never have to entertain hiring him long term.

Exactly who was Arkansas to hire for Headcoach during the end of our spring ball period?

I'm pretty sure if you could read you would already know what my suggestion was/is.

How is that too work? Is there enough time during fall practice to install a new offense/defense/assistant coaches and have a result different than what is already in place?

Difference is we get to start fresh with a clean slate in December 12 instead of December 13 or 14...

Realistically, just about any coach not named Saban or Miles (and even they would take a look) would consider Arkansas. I would bet Bob Stoops would jump ship today to Arkansas if given the offer.

That is what really happened. JLS cost Arkansas a shot at a national title or a BCS bowl because NAMES. A competent coach would have made a huge difference. Your false dichotomy of JLS OR changing everything is just that. You can get a competent coach and part of that competence would be understanding that you go with what you have. The good news would be that the competent coach would run the ball to sew up the back end of winnable games.
