East Tennessee is one of the most beautiful region in the US. there's a reason why Smoky Mountains (#1 most visited national park in the US) has more visitors per year than #2 Grand Canyon, #3 Yosemite, and #4 Yellowstone combined.

It is true to an extent, especially the further south you go in Florida. Heck, UF couldn't even sellout their ticket allotment to the Sugar Bowl this year. Granted they were stuck playing UL. But still, they had a great season that surprised a lot of people. So you would think they should've been able to sellout their ticket allotment.

That's a great link and a good read, but not really pursuant to the topic at hand, because that extrapolates TV markets over hundreds of variables including local internet searches, the margin of error is ridiculous.

I was in Little Rock and I saw more Mizzou and Texas bumper stickers and plate frames than anything else.

I think I saw maybe one Arky hitch cover.

I've seen that article several times.... Keep in mind that was during auburns NC year. I don't think a single auburn fan will say with a straight face that they have as many fans as BAMA does in the state of Alabama, let alone the nation.

Most auburn fans will tell you the ratio is 60/40 or 65/35 in the state. BAMA is also a bigger school and has had more success in its history.

Not saying they don't exist, but it certainly isn't common up here.

MSU is easily the most popular in MS. OM carries the old south population nationally though, so I suspect it's pretty even overall...

Either way, if you take football attendance as a percentage of the total population of a state, I don't believe anywhere can touch MS(not that this is relevant to shite -- just saying). On any given weekend, 7% or so of the total population of the state is in a stadium at one of the 3 schools. That number will likely go up in expansion...
