Chubb isn't the same RB...he's lost a step and it's obvious.

I agree Guice has a lot of potential but
Scarborough may be just as good or better. But he hasn't played that much with his injuries. Finally healthy, we all saw his capabilities in late 2016. FWIW, I believe Guice is waaay better than LF ever was. Chubbs, GREAT talent. But needs blockers lol. They all do.

Damarea Crockett is going to wreck some SEC defenses next year.

He has talent. But what is your reasoning/proof as BEST in the SEC?
No more than he has played

I thought Kelly at Tennessee was pretty solid when he played a lot at the end of the year. He's not elite, but a good player. Runs really hard.

Yea I think we are low in this ranking, no by a lot but low. I think kelly will raise some eyebrows, for the attributes already mentioned and for the fact that he seems to have an inordinately amount of power of a back of his size

CFA has shown flashes of brilliance as well but not sure how well he will do with a larger role

Maybe with the motivation of returning for his senior season and a whole healthy offseason, Chubb can get back to superior form. Not to mention what should be an improved O-Line, QB, and WR blocking

1. Georgia: Sr. Nick Chubb, Sr. Sony Michel

2. Auburn: Jr. Kamryn Pettway, Jr. Kerryon Johnson

3. Alabama: Jr. Damien Harris, Jr. Bo Scarbrough

4. Arkansas: Jr. Rawleigh Williams, Soph. Devwah Whaley

5. LSU: Jr. Derrius Guice, Sr. Darrel Williams

I assume you guys watched some football in 2016

DG at Lsu is the best back in the SEC period - if he goes down I agree we will have some issues

Lsu Top 3 just based on DG and no Bama you ain't got one as good as DG !

and a Hog fan putting the Hogs #4 and Lsu #5 - who would of thought it ???

Honestly, I would put Bama ahead of Auburn since we have Pettway and KJ but nothing proven behind them. Bama has Harris, Bo and jacobs with the top rb coming in.

How stupid are you? This is an article.

I even stated that I believe LSU should be in the top 3.

Kelly looks like he'll be good, but most of his tape came against bad defenses. Of course, it's not his fault that Jones didn't give him carries early in the season.

12 may be too low, but it's really hard to make a case for UT when they're only returning 112 carries and 688 yards from last season.

I don't necessarily think that Alabama has the best RB group in the league. But it's impossible to compare guys based on touches they haven't gotten yet. Georgia's backfield is certainly more experienced than Bama's.

On a per carry basis, here is how UGA and Bama stack up

Chubb: 6.4 ypc / 18.45 carry per TD
Michel: 5.5 ypc / 25.53 carry per TD
Herrien: 5.8 ypc / 21 carry per TD

Scarborough: 6.4 ypc / 11.92 carry per TD
J. Jacobs: 6.7 ypc / 21.25 carry per TD
D. Harris: 6.2 ypc / 64 carry per TD

All-in-all I think they compare pretty favorably. The other guys haven't had enough action to compare. Between Bo and Jalen Hurts scoring a lot of rushing TDs, Harris's TDs numbers are somewhat depressed.

DG is the best IMHO but most non-homers wouldn't have a problem with the way this top 5 is. Maybe you should read the topic. It says depth and this is pretty spot on.

Bad defenses is a stretch though they weren't the elite defenses we saw earlier. Even so, he had carries the year prior and showed a great burst and vision then and against those 'bad defenses' this season he managed to wrack up yards (and FWIW, the East had better LBs according to Athlon than the West did, minus Bama of course). His speed and vision are undeniable. I worry most about his durability as a starter as it was clear that neither he nor Kamara were able to endure the amount of carries Hurd had before he quit but consider this: His 73 yard TD run was the longest by a UT back since 2006 and those guys had their shot at slaw D's too.

FWIW, I'm fairly sure Coach G had say over the RBs and he's a damned fine position coach but Hurd was a garunteed 4 yard gain the year prior every time he touched the ball and Kamara was a homerun threat. While Kelly showed burst the year prior he really came on this year. Plus the OL adores him and loves blocking for him and that matters more than many want to admit.
