And your point is? It pretty well falls in line with the populations of the states the schools are located in.

Florida and A&M fans do you think your school will keep growing? 50k is already an impressive amount of students. Do you think they will go to 60 or 70 thousand?

I have no idea. Honestly, A&M was never intended to grow as huge as it has when it first opened, but one thing led to another.

If I had to guess, there'll be a self-imposed cap somewhere just short of that range, but it won't be for lack of room to grow or lack of demand.

There's room for them but I would hope not. There aren't enough math whizzes in the state to expand the engineering departments much beyond where they already are, so your added 8-18K would mostly be... umm... I'll say not-engineers, and leave it at that.

Yes. Numbers are total enrollment on the University's main campus (Columbia, Oxford, Athens, etc) and not extended or satellite campuses.

WestCoastAg is a nonreg.

So is my little brother who's a senior this fall. Kid loves A&M just as much as I do.

I didn't mean to be insulting. It's just outside my experience. When I think of A&M I obviously think of the Corps. And bonfire, dammit.

Didn't come across that way My dad and I were CT's, but my brother and most folks who helped influence my decision to attend A&M were nonregs.

Same. I feel truly fortunate to have been able to see on campus Bonfire burn several times with my own eyes.

I was there in the centennial year when the population grew to ~32K. The school came out with all sorts of statistics for the occasion. The two I remember most were 1) in the entire 100-yr existence of the school, of all attendees ever, 1/3 were currently enrolled, and 2) there was 1 parking space for every 3 students

Wow

I wonder what those parking stats are nowadays Used to park my car in West Campus Garage. Sucked having to make the walk from the Quad, but I liked being close to the Rec/Business School.

Then you need to change A&M's enrollment figure, because they include the Galveston and Qatar campuses, which adds about 2,500.

Texas A&M’s marine-oriented branch campus, Texas A&M University at Galveston, also reports record fall enrollment, currently standing at 2,058, for a gain of 159 students compared to last year. Texas A&M’s engineering–oriented campus at Qatar is just starting its fall semester. It had a record 473 students in attendance last fall, representing a 59-student increase. The campus in the Middle East is fully funded by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

When including the two branch campuses, total enrollment for Texas A&M stands at a record 52,585

As of 12th class-day data, university officials are reporting a total enrollment of 53,337, including undergraduate and graduate students at College Station, as well as at the institution’s two branch campuses, Texas A&M University at Galveston and Texas A&M University at Qatar.

Agree with you on Qatar, but not Galveston.

TAMU-G is merely the "sea-grant" part of our University. Their diplomas simply read "Texas A&M University," just like those at the C-Stat campus.

Then why does Galveston, which is clearly called a "branch campus," have its own president?

It's none of my business, but this to me is incredible... or at least it was until I remembered how stinkin' old I am. Your dad may have been a classmate of mine. I can't imagine him going there much before me because of his race. In any case, tell him "Howdy, dammit!" for me next time you see him.
