I can definitely tell you are not excited about your new power run offense coach. Only someone insane as yourself would think that a pig is a great mascot.

And by the way, we are not the bears, never have been and never will be. We are the Rebels. Go shove it up your vagina.

I hope they learned something. Look, I am a southerner. I applaud their service to their state in a cause that SEEMED right at the time, but it wasn't. To cling to a name that. at its core, represents a reprehensible institution and time in our history does not sit well with people. Whether the whole school fought or not is irrelevant to that point.

Take this shite to the poli board, no one gives a frick about your white guilt.

The fact is, just about all these mascots were generated organically and have plenty of history. That you choose to be ignorant to it, or try to play it down in some manner is asinine.

And just to be on topic, a mascot that doubles as a condiment should never be number one on any list other than what is the best topping to put on a burger.

Lol. Wut? Do you even know the history behind the school's name and mascot? The school is named after Cornelius Vanderbilt, who was also known as COMMODORE(because of his illustrious naval empire). Learn some history you Arkansas pleb.

I said the mascot was named after the founder???

8) Wildcats
Mostly vague and unoriginal.

We actually have bobcats/wildcats in Kentucky unlike the 1 tiger they have in Louisiana.

3) Gators
Cool mascot with real connections to the state.

I guess your standard doesn't count for all schools.

you got several of the mascots wrong fwiw.

Crimson Tide
Volunteers
Aggies
Rebels

quote:

War Eagles
Plainsmen
Maroons

those are not mascots. The ones that I quoted were actually wrong. The Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and A&M mascots listed are wrong.

I never said anything about white guilt. We are talking about the mascots and that one is related to the topics I mentioned. FWIW I was a bigger fan until they adopted the bear to make things even more fricked up.

See my point people. You can know all the history about your own school you want, but others just make assumptions hence your mascot needs to be changed to something more relevant.

A bit biased, but I agree that the Razorbacks is a cool mascot, along with South Carolina and Florida.

I'm biased that LSU is the best because we have a live SIberian/Bengal Tiger on campus and there is a lot of history between Mike 1 and 6! No one in the country can beat that. Please try and debate me on this!!!!

When anyone outside of the SEC thinks about the SEC, Ugga from Georgia is the first mascot that usually comes to mind. If I had no knowledge on SEC Mascots, I'd most likely go with Georgia on this one.

Three teams, really? No originality, no real connection to any of the schools whatsoever.

Can't speak for the other tigers, but LSU fighting tigers come from the Louisiana fighting tigers of the civil war who served the confederacy under Robert E Lee and the army of northern Virginia. Seems like more of a connection than just picking a pig. Those things are everywhere

Not our mascot. Our nickname is "The Crimson Tide" and our mascot an elephant. Both have relevancy to the program.
Best explanation of origin of both

I really do like the name Razorbacks. That's one thing Arkansas has in my opinion.

1. Razorbacks
2. Rebels
3. Volunteers
4. Gators
5. Gamecocks
6. Commodores
7. Crimson Tide
8. Aggies
9. Bulldogs
10. Bulldogs
11. Tigers
12. Tigers
13. Tigers
14. Wildcats

You said the name Commodore had no obvious connection with the school. Are you really this stupid or are you trollin' because I really can't tell at this point.

Imo, the Gators, Crimson Tide and Bayou Bengals have the best mascots in the SEC.

I've never seen a wild boar in my time in Arkansas. Thankfully it was a short period of time.
