I like Hogville, Volnation, Texags. All good boards but none operate in real time like Tigerdroppings. It is the King. I think there were only like 8,000 members when I joined. Over 110,000 now. Unbelievable.

I visit plenty of forums where it's basically anything goes re: moderation, but at the same time, people respect honest conversation and it seems the posters take it into their own hands to regulate the trolls. It has to do with the culture of the board. I'm not saying I know how to fix it, but this place is broken in my eyes. It's just the culture of the board these days, unfortunately.

eta: I lurked for a long time and it seems like right around conference expansion was when it really jumped the shark.

You either get highly moderated threads and sunshine pumping

Or little moderation and a Wild West of flaming and trolling, you can't have it both ways

And with the advent of team-centric boards the SECRant jumped the shark. Any pretense of rational back & forth between different fanbases here went up in flames with ATPB & the team boards... The SECR is what it is...

Well generally true. I've certainly had good football conversations on here. You just gotta wade through the mud a bit.

Texags is the only one on the same level as TD when it comes to activity and shite like that. Maybe the shag as well. Those are the big 3 in terms of just size

I'm prolly a little harsh but it's hard to do. A lot of threads start out well but get shite upon by the same people time after time. It becomes tiresome...

r/cfb is the best for actual discussion. secrant has way too much trolling to do that. I was banned from r/cfb for two days though for making fun of another team they're way too PC over there. SecRant is still my favorite. 0 bans thus far

We should implement a tag like srs on bb.com for actually discussion. The trolling does get old.

For MU the board de jur is tigerboard.com

Its got a old school format that some people love and some people loathe. For game days the threads go by so fast that the subjects is about all you have time to read and jts almost twitteresque before twitter was a gleam in the eye of Jack Dorsey. The shack board is anything goes and is quite comical. When MU goes well the board is a happy place, when not the place will meltdown faster than a flavor ice in july.

I thought the exact same thing the first time I used reddit. Give it another chance. Make yourself spend 5 solid minutes browsing. I think it'll seem more intuitive by that point. I think the experience is really quite nice, especially with the reddit enhancement suite.

ShaggyBevo is full of mindless trolls who use Microsoft paint to draw penises of the people they despise. Its the most entertaining board there is.

Texags premium is some of the best coverage from a fan site/forum in the country. Their studio, video work, and writers (they hire professionals) are likely unmatched.

The main fb forum is mostly useless though. Too many trolls and jackasses. They have a daily radio show, and do huge events on national signing day and other major CFB events.

If you get a chance, I suggest checking out what they offer for free at times (in the premium content area.)
