Pat to Holly is a major downgrade. So is Pearl to Barnes right now, but that'll hopefully even itself out in the next year or two. Baseball's been trash for close to a decade now, since Delmonico left. Good ol 07-08, when Phil, Bruce and Pat were our coaches, and we won the East, both SEC basketball championships, and a natty in WBB.

Stricklin has done a great job overall. I was glad that he won that AD of the year award.

Yea, State has really improved their secondary sports. That jump in 5-7 years is really impressive.

I think we are fairly competent in everything now except for soccer and volleyball.

I know we just made new hires in those sports...not really sure how it's going.

If you're counting every sport equally, you're doing it wrong.

Football should be weighted 50%
Basketball and Baseball 15%
Women's basketball 10%
The rest 10%

That's what the Director's Cup and SEC All-Sports Trophy do.

Fixed it for you. When you just list numbers and don't explain how the numbers are generated, they are meaningless.

Where is Kentucky reaping such gains? Basketball is a excelling constant.

Genuine curiosity.
Womens basketball, softball, baseball has been steady, Cal has basketball winning at a ridiculous level, the soccer teams have both done excellenr, the rifle team has been killing it, not really sure about golf or tennis, pretty sure our tennis teams are pretty good with several nationally ranked singles and doubles most years.

You have to remember that 10 years ago we barely even scoring in basketball. Aside from basketball getting a top 4 finish 4 of the last 5 years; women's basketball has a string of sweet 6 finishes, softball made it to the Super Regional multiple times, Women's track & field has been one of the top programs, rifle is consistently a top 5 program, and soccer, tennis, and golf usually make the postseason.

I think improvements in our Olympic sports is a direct result of our rivalry with Louisville. We never cared about them in the past.

That's why we've never been to the CWS, for example. Simply didn't care about baseball. That has changed radically since Louisville became a major player.

Same can be said for women's bball, softball, volleyball and soccer. Our biggest rival in men's soccer is Louisville, too.

If they get better, we have to, also. Wish that worked in football.

That's REALLY REALLY dumb considering we rarely if ever finish lower than Louisville in the Director's cup.
