based upon? I know you wouldn't be partial...

Mel Kiper, someone who knows a little about talent, seems to think LSU is the most talented team in the country, and can't see them losing this year...fwiw

that's obviously what he did...otherwise, how do you put Bama ahead of LSU in overall talent? LSU has 6-8 possible first round draft picks this year....and a tremendous amount of depth just like bama.

LSU does have the most experienced top end talent. Reid and Mingo are probably the most taltented draftable defensive players in the SEC.

Bama has more overall team talent especially on offense where LSU is kind of lacking in top end talent.

NFL draftees last 3 years:
Alabama - 20
Georgia - 18
LSU - 17
Florida - 15
South Carolina - 10
Miss State - 9
Tennessee - 9
Arkansas - 8
Auburn - 7
Ole Miss - 6
Kentucky - 6
Texas A&M - 6
Vanderbilt - 5
Mizzou - 5

That's great for the past, but he was asking about current talent. Sure, you can draw conclusions, but in a case like LSU, they will have 4-5 times the top draft picks that they have had the past couple of years.

that blame can be squarely directed towards Chuck Smith, now if you want to call dooley an idiot for hiring Chuck Smith, by all means do.

Not that it wasn't one of the most positive Tennessee coaching hires ever though, we were all duped.

The LSU OL is absolutely loaded. I know you guys love you some alabama OL, greatest ever, etc...but this is by far LSU's most highly profiled OL....and we have the number one player out of highschool coming on strong this year...with a couple of other potential first round draft picks on OL. LSU is also loaded at RB.....and has some draft talent at WR....and Mett could also quite possibly be a top round draft pick. You are giving Bama WAY too much credit on offense, and LSU way too little. JJ is no longer there.

Based off Saban constantly purging the roster. Based off Bama currently has the best combination of strength and conditioning, and player development. Based on the eye test.

and alabama lost to ULM just 4 years ago. You do realize that LSU absolutely dominated the game right, and just turned the ball over 4-5 times in critical situations....much like the North Carolina game. It all counts, but to say a team is that talented because they almost beat another team...is absolutely stupid. There wasn't one player from ULM better than bama's top 22....yet they beat y'all.

how old are you? seriously?

This is absolutely stupid. LSU has one of, if not the best strength and conditioning coach in the country...and as for player development...what does that actually mean?????? You got 3 more guys total drafted over the last 3 years...this year the trend reverses...

I don't think LSU O-line is as talented as everyone seems to think. Hurst is awful in IMO and the entire O-line leaves alot to be desired in pass protection. Faulk is legit though.

Well, the pro scouts think hurst is pretty darn good...as well as much of the media...but I see that you know more than them. Collins is also very good...and will be a break out star this year as the #1 player out of highschool. They return four starters, plus a veteran that was out last year...and are loaded at two deep.....you are going to be surprised. They will be MUCH better than last year.

Calm down buddy, don't sweat BhamDore, you should have seen him last summer, with his SEC Team prediction thread. He hates him some LSU big time. Anybody who remembers his prediction thread and how bad he failed with that would not worry about him. It's more of a flame anyway I doubt he really believes it, he obviously has some football knowledge. He is just looking for a rise so don't feed him.

agreed, Tennessee is primed for a top 25 finish, anything less and let the coaching search begin.

I don't hate LSU at all. Eric Reid is my favorite player in the SEC. My prediction was based off how awful LSU looked in 2010.

That was the worst 11 win team I ever saw.

struggled with UNC JV squad, struggled to beat a horrible UT team, Auburn gouged them on the ground, struggled with Ole Miss, horrible offense and a decent defense. Nothin about 2010 suggested LSU was going to be some dominant team in 2011.

Honestly I assumed the the breaks you got in 2010 would catch up in 2011.
