On per play calling/player development.

1. Lane Kiffin
2. Jim Mcelwain
3. Doug Nussmeier
4. Major Applewhite

We give Lane a lot of shite about some of the play calling, but getting to the CFP 3 times with 3 different QBs is impressive.

Homer Smith

Whoever called plays in 1973.

Everybody else.

ETA - I ranked them all time, not just Saban era.

I don't either but I'm a Bama fan so I think that's what I'm supposed to say according to the Rant.

McElwain
Kiffen
Nussmeier
Applewhite

When Coach Mac got a HC job he was able to handle that and the bowl game very well, so he gets #1 in my book.

As a neutral observer, I thought McElwain was the best playcaller of the bunch.

It seemed Kiffin's offenses had the most big plays.
