Didnt they just sign a huge deal with the SEC???

I dont think I have seen a single SEC team playing on ESPNU they have the Miami regional just like they did last year and a California regional that I have no intentions to watch.

It seems ESPN would at least be at the Arkansas or South Carolina regionals.

I know they cover all of the Super Regionals, but their coverage of the Regionals this weekend is pathetic.

What are you guys thoughts on this.

I still believe that as good as the SEC is in baseball and as many fans they have willing to watch college baseball on TV, they should have at least one regional with an SEC team on TV.

That's because ESPNU is the fastest growing television channel in the history of modern television. They'll continue to carry more and more every year.

fwiw....tv, in general, had already decided that they were only going to carry two regionals about a month ago.

False. LINK

ESPN's various outlets will carry more than 5,500 SEC events over the 15-year period, including league championships in women's basketball, baseball, softball and gymnastics.

sorry....misworded that badly. Meant that it had very little to do with it. Postseason particularly.

The only mention I saw in regard to baseball and the new deal was that they would show the league championships. They didn't mention anything else about the regular season or CWS play.

Technically you're right about the post-season though, the deal can't involve guarantees to show SEC teams in NCAA regionals, because there's just too many variables in the equation.

They didn't mention regular season stuff in the first press conference, but that deal is still the reason those SEC games were on ESPNU. LINK

ZING!

Seriously Pank, are you in Law School at Ole Miss? Because you try to make an arguement about everything and always act as if you are never wrong. Just admit when you are wrong and move on.

I think Disney bids to show two regionals in entirety, usually a Florida and California regional. The rest are bid on by local or regional networks, so if you arent in that market you are basically screwed. Then systems like CST and CSS want to keep their product away from Disney.

"Championships.....the SEC Championship game was on ESPN2. Just sayin."

Past seasons, before the espn deal, tournament games were televised more....not just the championship game....
