Really? All I've ever heard from LSU fans is that the knock on Chavis is his recruiting ability. To say he is among the top recruiting coaches in the history of college football is laughable, and I wouldn't count him among the top defensive minds in the history of the game either.

So you know nothing bout football...Glad we cleared that up early on..

Not sure on numbers but I am sure he has just as many drafted defensive players as any guy coaching today.

He's had an embarrassment of riches in terms of talent at his last two stops. I can't deny that.

Nice biopic. Somehow I knew a thread about LSU's offense would be deflected to discussing LSU's defense.

Things I've learned about LSU's O in this thread:

1. LSU is not changing anything
2. Cam is a figurehead

What in the actual frick are we supposed to tell you? How are we supposed to know how the offense is going to be? We haven't played a single game yet. All we know is if Cam Cameron is as good as we expect him to be with the playmakers we have, our offense will be much improved. shite.

Hill won't play unless Blue and Hilliard go down.

We win 34-17

I don't think LSU fans realize how great Gary Patterson is. Mastermind is not hyperbole.

Yeah, Patterson is good no doubt. However you are forgetting LSU plays the best defenses and their coaches every year. So I like our chances...

One thing though...neither team has proven anything this year. So LSU won't have had any real prep compared to what they will see later in the season. I say LSU 31-Frogs 20

Don't get me wrong, Chavis is a very solid coach. He's also had the luxury of running his D with an ungodly amount of talent at Tennessee and LSU.
And Patterson has had the luxury of running his D against much lesser talent until last year, and you see how that worked out.

Of course, you idiots still think that cowbells give you a competitive advantage at that dump you call a stadium despite getting murdered at it regularly, so I guess I can't be too surprised at your lack of logic.

10/06/12 vs. Iowa State * TV Fort Worth, Texas L, 37-23

Dude. Don't post the score if you're not going to post the other significant stats. Iowa State was +4 in the turnover department. TCU dominated the clock and had 105 more offensive yards.
Oklahoma State and Texas Tech passed for over 300 yards, and West Virginia passed for over 250. LSU can pass the ball for that many yards, but I wouldn't bet on them actually doing that the first game of the season in a new offense.

42 without Hill. He definitely won't play, so I'll leave it at that.

It did pretty well 'in regulation.' TCU has been focused on this game all offseason. This is their superbowl. Gary knows how big this game is for the profile of his program, he's going to have some wild shite drawn up.

Not really. A previous poster struck down that notion. Besides, if he was all that great, they wouldn't have needed to go beyond regulation.

Sorta like Boise St in the Fiesta was their superbowl? How'd that work out?

What a coaching genius. Really, this is the stuff of legends.

Tell me, exactly how wild can a defensive formation get? Think he'll go to the spread? Maybe a triple-option? Some trick plays??

So the point can't be disputed. Got it.
