I was raised on the Big 8, loved Big 8 basketball in particular. Wish those days could exist in the modern world. But they can't.

I like the SEC football experience a whole lot. The SEC basketball experience...well I don't have to tell you guys.

I'd like to revive the Missouri Valley Conference that Mizzou first started out in waaaaay back in the day and morph it into the Super Missouri Valley Conference.

North Division:
Illinois
Iowa
Iowa State
Nebraska
kansas
Kansas State
Missouri

South Division
Tennessee
Kentucky
Arkansas
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas
Texas A&M

Yeah, that'd pretty much be perfect. All of the above are schools in states Missouri shares a border with, except the Texas schools who I gobbled up for recruiting and because I live in TX and am a selfish prick.

I get wood thinking about that conference.

Not banging on you man but this is why Yankees don't belong in the SEC. It should read "long ROW to hoe" just trying to help.

Oh I'm talking about a fantasy in which we bring them in as indentured servants, keep Deloss Dodds locked at the bottom of a well and piss on his head intermittently sort of thing. Trust me, living in Austin I know: there are no tears like t-sip tears for entertainment. Trust me, you want them around when humbled and subdued.

I grew up with the old Big 8, but Texas cried crocodile tears, came in, and destroyed it. There's no going back, and in the real world its an easy pick

SEC

Screw the rest. If we can't burn Lawrence, someday we'll burn Atlanta . . .

I do want KU back as an OOC game. Just to rub their Texas arse kissin' faces in it . . .

Watching the 'Boz' i was reminded how huge those big 8 NU-OU games were. That was as big a national game as there was back in the day. But did anybody beside those 2 ever win the conference?

Also, national attention came to the sec only sporadically as well, usually via Alabama, so the SEC was a relative backwater too.

Back then all the coverage and attention was on the Big 10, Pac 12 and Notre Dame with some SWC (tex/ tex-ou) thrown in.

Half the garbage posted on here is semi-literate nonsense from a troglodyte in a trailer. An incorrect idiom is more likely to be a sign of being "SEC" than not.

SEC and there is not a close second...

Side note: I live in Kansas City and I am currently in Knoxville for the Mizzou game. We do two road trips a year and love the SEC atmosphere.

I just don't want to be where we're not wanted that's all.

South Carolina caught hell when they joined the conference and many Arky fans wanted to go to the Big 12 soon after their welcoming party.

Mizzou and A&M are both experiencing "new kid syndrome." Keep winning and the detractors will shut up. They're already fewer than they were two years ago.

It's the same here. Embrace the hate. Be the villain. Stick a carpetbagging thumb in their inbred uni-eye.

I'd cherry pick the weak sister flagships from each, like ku, UK, Arkansas, Tenn, Ill, etc.

If anything, you should be a hard core midwestern Big 12/Big Ten fan for knowing so much about farming terminology.

1. SEC - I like the football, the exposure and the money, but I don't like the South or Southerners.

At first I was thrilled about the move and felt a real sense of gratitude toward the conference for letting us in, but the hate and venom thrown our way by squinty-eyed inbreds who fear anything new or different has turned me into a mercenary. Mizzou comes first now; screw the rest of 'ya'll.' I feel no sense of loyalty to the SEC. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

2. Big-8 - Our spiritual/traditional home. Miss it in a big way. However, there's no going back...

3. Big-10: Yawn...

4. Big-12: A perversion of a once-great thing.

SEC well ahead of Big 8 which would be my second choice.

Was a kick arse conference back in the day. The equal of the SEC at the time.

Is this even a question? SEC! From top to bottom it is the premier football conference in the nation.

SEC at this point. The Big 8 of old would be close, but I don't think that that Big 8 in todays world is as attractive. B1G after that. Last thing I want is the old Big Bevo.

Me and my friends in KC are THRILLED to be in the SEC. I don't talk to Mizzou fans who aren't happy, especially if they're real, rabid college football fans.

My rankings:

1. SEC

2. SEC

3. SEC

4. SEC

Let me explain. Rivalries build up over time. They will come naturally.

Big 8. Would be too small to survive and has clunker towns. Lincoln in the winter is not fun. You can't even park at the stadium, and the winters can be brutal. Manhattan is a shytehole, Larryville is a shytehole, Ames is not much better and also can be cold as frick. Stoolwater isn't a pretty place, either. That conference would be irrelevant today because it would not have the media contracts and recruiting areas to survive against the other conferences.

Big 12.

Doomed from the day it was created, allowing Texas and it's fellow Texas based schools to veto ANY changes they didn't like, even though the Big 8 was successful and they were part of a failed, completely corrupt conference. The Big 12 conference offices moved from Kansas City to Dallas, and most of you know about the shenanigans that those scamps in Austin constantly pulled to ensure their continued dominance. Waco and Lubbock aren't great destinations to visit, either. The Big 8 sold its soul for more viewers and some better athletes.

Big 10.

Cold as frick, demographics are moving away from them since they are losing population from rust-belt cities. Academics are first rate at many of the schools and they are definitely Midwest (or used to be). I'm talkin' to you, Rutgers. Talent is down overall in places like Pennsylvania and Ohio that used to be huge hotbeds. We would not recruit as well from Texas and southern states like we were starting to do even before we joined the SEC. Hard to get as many southern kids when you're not a traditional power to play up north in the cold.

Money would have been good, but everybody knew once the SEC decided where they wanted to land, they would be the top dog. Oh, and Jim Delany is a gigantic, slimy douche. Smartest guy at the table, my arse.

SEC

Better destinations, better women, warmer weather, closer to where we can get kids we want, people are nicer overall (except on the Rant, lol), and ultimately there's going to be better money along with the best football in the land. On top of that, Mike Slive was a straight shooter and a visionary.

We made a one-hundred year decision. There is no question we made the right one.

Frick the Big 10, frick the Big 12 and frick everybody else except the SEC. And frick some of you if you don't believe it.

Kansas City here. Pumped about the SEC. Don't know what the frick the people earlier were talking about KC missing the Big 12. That could be true for old blue hairs maybe. The rest of us would take the SEC over any other.
