The fact that you somehow believe that LSU fans, especially those that hang around here have any clue as to what the game plan might be is depressing.

Last year Les mixed it up. We gave them a good diet of ground and pound, then we threw quite a bit on early downs. Many of the "pass plays" turned into QB scrambles, so it doesn't show up as passes in the statistics.

They do but Harris has the ability to beat them. It's definitely a risky proposition but he looks better and better each week.

Bama isn't exactly in a vastly superior position with Coker. I like Coker. I think he's definitely serviceable. He actually looked fairly decent in their loss to Ole Miss if you go back and watch the game again. But Coker has his issues too.

Both QBs will need to make plays in order for their team to win.

The key for LSU on offense will be the run game as it is the engine of our offense. Mett threw for 241 yards in 2013 but we rushed for an anemic 43 yards total as a team. Last year we ran for 183 yards but Jennings was an abysmal 8/26 for 76 yards through the air.

This year we have a QB who doesn't suck and hopefully Fournette et al can get another 150+ on the ground.

No, he doesn't have to have the game of his life. But he has to have a good game. If we are held under 100 yards rushing, we should lose.

That would mean breaking the LSU single game record and maybe tieing the single game TD record. Would be fine with me. But LSU doesn't need that to win.

Actually stacks up pretty well against bama's offense. They give up allot of tfl because their o-line has had issues most of the season both in pass and run blocking. The strength of the LSU defense this year is in our front seven, which bodes well for us. Tennessee and Arkansas slowed their rushing offense considerably and LSU's rushing defense is considerably better than both of theirs. LSU is vulnerable through the air due to coverage busts but Bama's passing offense has also been the epitome of mediocre this year. The weird thing about this years Alabama offense is just how error prone it is and LSU is the kind of defense combined with its versatile offense that can take big advantage of that. I still think Bama will score a bit but the big question is whether their offense can play mistake free football. If they gift LSU with a short field, they are going to pay for it.

Disagree on both counts.

They're going to do what they can to limit Fournette, and that means more guys in the box. I'll take our receivers over their corners, and Harris can make the throws.

I'm more concerned about our defense.

You don't know our Front 7 can't stop him so this is purely assumption and quite honestly we have a better shot at our front 7 stopping him than anyone.

They do the same as the first 7 games.

The thing that will dictate this game, is can Bama stop LSU's run game using its base package. If they don't need to bring in a safety to stop the run, it will be very hard for Harris to throw, and could lead to turnovers.

Bama's pass rush is also unlike anything LSU has seen from Saban at Bama. So Harris will have to throw on the run accurately, against safety help, for LSU to outscore Bama.

LSU has a solid defense, but not one of the better ones for an elite Miles team. Bama will move the ball and get some points. So field position will be important. I feel good about JK Scott, but don't know anything about LSU's punter.

I think we throw a lot right out the gate then rush a ton when their guys are playing further back expecting passes/tired from running the field

Tennessee did just fine on defense against bama when I was watching. Coker will give it to us a couple times just watch.

Maybe, but the likelihood of anyone stopping him is slim, especially with how strong our line is.

Florida has a good defense. They limited him, which is about the best you can expect.

I don't think that will dictate this game as I don't think Bama will be able to stop LSU's run game with its base package. Like that Bama pass rush, this LSU running game is not like any lsu run game that bama has seen before. They can run it effectively out of multiple formations, use motion/misdirection, zone read. and also are a great power run team. I suspect of any team Bama will be able to slow it effectively but still suspect that yall will need safety support on the run game. That said, just because LSU is able to do that doesn't mean they are going to win...it just means that the other match up of yall's offense versus our offense will be just as much or more of a factor.

I disagree with this statement. I don't think that Alabama will win without getting a couple of turnovers in their favor. Harris is good enough to make the plays needed to win and LF will get his yards.

Feels strange doesn't it? Being more concerned about the defense than the offense.

If I had to guess, I'd probably say that we would have the exact same gameplan that we have had for every single game of the last 7 years.

Run until we can't anymore then pass. Every now and then play action. Play fast and aggressive defense. Win the turnover battle

Pound LF on first, second, and third down?
Or do you think Cam will mix it up on first and second down?

In the past, Les has been pretty conservative against Bama on first and second down. IMO

I think we try to do what Ohio St. did, which is to say more 3/4 WR sets with shotgun zone read looks, and less I-formation. Now if JD Moore is healthy you'll see more I, especially in goal line and short yardage.
