Programs are measured by how well football does. Whether that be extra revenue that trickles down to the other sports or what have you. It's by far the most important. Baseball, for most schools, loses the schools money. Plus baseball is boring as shite.

For better or for worse, the introduction of a playoff has started to weaken the prestige of winning a conference title in football.
If this were pre-playoff and you're offering me say a 11-2 season with an SEC title and a BCS bowl win then I would take that over a baseball NC, but in 2017 an SEC title but no spot in the playoff just isn't as appealing
