My dad's freshman year. He said Ears Whitworth cried after every game that season and vowed not to get beat so bad the next game. Thankfully, he was relieved of his duty soon after, for some other guy, and he became one of 6 people to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for his Valor in Korea.

Have to laugh at all the gumps saying a blowout hurts worse. Last year and 2010 still haunt them while it's like 2012 and 2011 never happened for Aubies.

It's obvious which hurts worse and it isn't close if the team getting blown out sucks and totally expects to not be competitive.

This. Nobody cares about 2011-12 but Kick 6 and Cambacks live forever.

Dude, the gumps truly don't know how a blowout from Auburn feels. Sorry to burst your bubble. And 2012 and 2011, the gumps were too excited about winning Nattys to care about how boogs felt or didn't feel.

They don't necessarily hurt worse unless you expected to be competitive but they are sure as hell more embarrassing.

Well, we are telling you half wits what's up.

Not our fault you are to dumb to understand.

Did you just refer to yourself as a jump?

And I suspect you felt 2005. Honk!

We don't understand things that have never happened. Sorry. I do understand that y'all sucked in 2011 and 2012 and that Bama drilled you like a cheap Phillipino hooker, but it was no different than every other time we drill you. It's just one game on the road to a Championship.

Interestingly enough, there was a stretch from 1993 to 1997 where every game was decided by 8 points or less.

in your life time.

We have the largest margin of victory in the IB.

Uh, no.

Largest margin of victory for Auburn:
48 points (twice - 1895, 1900)

Largest margin of victory for Alabama:
55 points (1948)
49 points (2012)

Revisionist history is amusing in the days of Wikipedia, isn't it?

I find it amusing that Auburn fans are referring to a 10 point win in 2005 as a "blow out", but that's understandable as that's the only double digit win for AU in the past 10 years.

Last time Auburn won by 20 or more:
1969

Number of times Alabama has won by 20 or more since then:
9

Number of times Alabama has been shut out:
8 (2 since 1960)

Number of times Auburn has been shut out:
16 (2 since 2008)
