I don't need to see a&m's punter throw 20 passes to know he isn't a good passer. That line of logic doesn't really work

Sure it does. Your opinion on whether Harris is a good QB is completely subjective. When the day comes that LSUs run game is marginally disrupted and Harris has to use his arm to win a game, you can judge Harris' performance, until then you are wrong because there is no evidence supporting your claim.

You've seen Harris throw 50 passes, and this is your conclusion? A quarter and change?

Huh?

MSU which had just given up over 300 yards passing to USM....yes Southern Miss!
Auburn....yes Auburn, do they even know what a defense is this year?
Syracuse....the 94th ranked team in CFB

They may not np be a traditional cupcake but they are far from solid competition as proven by their collective performances this year.

You're either trolling, drunk, or just stupid.

Here's my claim just in case you are confused.

Here's where I disagree with you. He'd done all that's needed so far. As I said in another thread, if the run game get's shut down then harris will need to step up. Not enough evidence that he will be able to do that yet.

My claim is pretty spot on and in agreement with your first statement. Maybe you're confused?

50 passes, all against P5 competition, is enough to make an initial assessment if you know what you're looking at.

Here's the bottom line. The fact that we are arguing over whether Harris could be a game changing passer because the run game got shut down is indicative of how good of a season LSU has had so far. You may never find out about that scenario because you have the best O-Line and RB combo in the SEC.

You imply that he won't.

I guess I'm an optimist.

You and I both agree that there isn't enough evidence to state either way.

We are essentially saying the same thing.

He's made a lot of progress from last season, I don't think anyone could possibly deny that. How much better he can get is anyone's guess but as of now it's totally fair to say he's basically an average SEC quarterback.

Not really, but I understand the fear. Nothing would be worse for an aggy than Chavis being able to shut down LF only to have Harris torch y'all.

If we shut down LF, the LEAST of my fears would be your QB passing against us. Our pass D would overwhelm your O.

It's a huge IF on shutting down LF though.

So, in my claim above, where was I wrong?

Considering you just played a team that runs a very similar offensive style as LSU, only with worse personnel across the board, and they ran the ball pretty well on you, what in the world makes you think you'll be able to do that? Serious question.

Look at the post I quoted, then look at my response.

He put up the hypothetical, I just commented on it.

Subjective, once again.

'I don't need to see atm punter throw 20 passes to know hes not a good passer.'

What you meant to say was, I've seen Harris throw the ball and I don't believe he can lead a team without a running game. Which is a fine opinion to have. But, it's an opinion based upon your evaluation, so I'll take it with a grain of salt. Unless you'd like to invite me to take a seat next to you in the coaching booth.
