Texas has talent but they are very tough to watch in the half court offensively.

Once again, the so-called pundit misses the mark with the Vols. We will be the surprise team, and for once the surprise ain't on us....

Mississippi State will surprise some teams. No way they finish with only 3 SEC wins. I predict 8 - 10.

IF this is the case at the end of the year, the SEC could get 5 teams in with Auburn and Georgia likely being on the bubble

Auburn won't be on the bubble with a RPI that high. Georgia would be.

Ya, if they can get a good point guard, they could be a very good team

Auburn's RPI wouldn't actually be that high at 20-11. RPIforecast (much better site) predicts 62.9 at 20-11. Still probably not good enough, but makes more sense.

Would depend on who the remaining wins are.... TCU and uconn?... maybe.

At this point, being on the bubble would be a hell of an accomplishment for this program

OU and Texas are both around .500. If they're finishing 6th or 7th in a 10 team conference, they might be below .500 on the season

No they won't be. 6th place last season in the Big 12 was Baylor and they went 10-8. Texas Tech finished 7th and were 9-9.

19-12 and 9-9 got 7th place Texas Tech into the NCAA tourney last year with an RPI of 50.

You're undervaluing what winning games in the Big 12 does to a teams RPI.

That was with Oklahoma State going 3-15 and TCU 2-16. I don't think there are any awful teams in that conference this year to suck up losses. The 6th team in a 10 team conference going 10-8 is statistically less likely than that team going 8-10.

The difference is that Texas Tech was 10-3 out-of-conference. Their record was still in "acceptable range."

OU and UT are both 6-5 and both could easily lose another out-of-conference game. A 16-14 or 15-15 Oklahoma team isn't making the tournament, even if their RPI is in the 50s.

I know it's early, but LSU is playing better ball this year than last year. I wouldn't want any more "Hey look at me I am good" players who stay for a year then leave. Let them go somewhere else. Thanks.

Texas and Oklahoma are 6-5. They are not going to the tournament if they are 9-9 or 10-8 in big 12. No chance

Severely overrating these wins. Syracuse sucks too. They lost by 33 to St. John's who is quite possibly the worst power conference team out there

How would we have a 90 RPI at 20-11?

With Wiley being added after the BC loss does that have any potential to impact how the committee sees Auburn? We shouldn't have lost to them either way but I know I've heard them taking into account injuries and things of that nature in the past. For the record I don't think we are a tourney team. A 2 or 3 seed in the NIT is my guess.

Kentucky, Florida, A&M, Auburn, Georgia, and South Carolina all going dancing. That is also the way the standings will finish out with the top 6.

But boy did we get screwed with our conference schedule!

Why don't you think Arkansas will finish in the top 6

I think Arky loses first 3 conference games (FLA, @UT, @KY) and then play the rest of the conferences season out above average (winning most of their games but finishing around 10-8/9-9 with some puzzling losses.

I like their balance offensively, but I would like to think they need a go to guy to win some games for them down the stretch, and I don't think Hannahs is that guy.

This would suprise me. Think we will win at least one of these games. You have to remember how well we play at home even when our teams aren't that good.

I see 10-8 being the low point. 11 or 12 seems about right to me.

I see what you are saying but I like the balance because it allows some guys to have an off night. I believe Macon can slowly evolve into this player as the season continues.

I would be very shocked if we finished outside the top 6. I don't see how Mike would keep his job after that.
