How about we let the talking be on the field. Let the usual suspects like Auburn and Tennessee get the hype.

UT will be a Top 5 team in the nation and absolutely has enough to beat Bama. You gave them a battle last year. People are underestimating the amount of talent on that squad. I'm a bit of a realist and I recognize that UT has returned to a much more 90s version of themselves. To be honest, with the UT running game and a very strong defense. You have to potential to win not just the SEC but the entire thing.

I can't help but feel like you're trying to counter troll us Tennessee fans

Honestly, A&M. I think their defense improves greatly this year

I'm going to go bold and pick Vanderbilt. They have a solid defense and a good RB and at least a pulse on offense. Everyone is putting them last in the East but I think they can realistically finish as high as 4th if they have decent QB play and a few lucky breaks.

I was going to say approximately the same thing. We lost a couple valuable players, but the overall strength of the defense should be up to last season's standards. We played several teams tough in losses, and with just a bit of extra experience, I think we have a decent chance of flipping the results this year. Plus, the expectations from the public and media are low enough that it wouldn't be overly difficult to exceed them.

Also, once again Prof proves that he's smarter than your average bear.

If Auburn is expected to not do well, you can book it that they will do very well. Happens all the time with them- both ways.

Close 2nd to Loeffler as the worst AU OC in my time as a fan.

Edit: Nall/Ensminger was pretty awful too.

That's our system. Mullen plays veteran guys as starters then rotates the talent in throughout the game. That's why usually our backups are better than starters

I will sound like a homer, but I really feel like SC will shock a few people. The defense is a veteran bunch this year, and with proper coaching, guys like Quay Lewis, Boosie Whitlow, and Darius English have the potential to be 7-9 sack guys each. Linebacker corps are very deep and talented, even without Skai (which does hurt), and secondary should improve since we got rid of John "10 yards off the line" Hoke.

Offensively, either Brandon Mcilwain or Lorenzo Nunez should be pretty effective in a spread option, high tempo system. We have speed and size at receiver (deebo samuel is a 4.3 guy, terry googer, Bryan edwards, and matrick Belton are 6'3"-6'5" guys). Tight end is Hayden hurst (6'6", 255 with 4.5 speed, basically a wideout at TE) running back worries me a bunch, David Williams looked flat out bad last year, fell over at the line of scrimmage nearly every handoff, and if he broke free for 15-20, fumbled... I think Rico dowdle (freshman) will take over by mid season. One of the better special team units in the conference.

More importantly, we were only out of two games last year, LSU and Georgia. Every other game, we had a chance at the end to pull out. Citadel nonwithstanding, the team wasn't as bad as the record said last year. I reasonably expect 6-7 wins out of this group. 8 if things break the right way.

Every year there are surprises in the SKA and in college football and THAT is what makes the college game so much fun. Being a Gator I think we surprise folks and our OL and running game is going to be much much better....we finished 13th in SEC rushing last year and only six games with a QB and a stout defense kept us from being 7-5 or worse. Our defense will again be stout and QB play much much improved from last six games from 2015. Schedule is better with UK, LSU, Mizzou & USC coming to the Swamp. UT & Arkie are back to back road games. Vandy is going to scare and maybe upset someone if they get any offense.

Possibly, possibly, but that wouldn't have any relevance to how they perform in their first year under him with a fairly significant dearth of SEC-level talent compared to most years under Spurrier. He's not going to have Urban's leftover thugs for his first year at USCe. It seems likely that he'll need a couple years to get things moving along.

Auburn is the only answer. They are the only team with the players and coaches to do anything that is not being hyped at all.

State won't be picked high but we will have best qb in league by end of the year, probably an average year though 9-10 wins

No chance in hell State wins 9 games.

I think UT is going to run away with the east next year. With UF, UGA, SCAR, VU, and UK all having between 6-8 wins total.

I also think OM, AU, TAMU, and Arky all finish with 6-8 wins.

Lots of parity after UT, LSU, Bama.
