This is how I would go. Not a knock on UT, just don't think they're there yet.

I'm pretty sure a Mizzou vs. A&M matchup in the SECCG would cause the internet to explode but it would be glorious until the clock hit 0.00

stranger things have happened obviously.

I can imagine that fans in 1993 were saying "oh man can you imagine an Arkansas/SC matchup!?"

The fact is that Missouri, MOST of the time, is going to be in the 3-4 range in the east. UF and UT both being mediocre is absolutely an anomaly looking at 100+ years of data. They wont' stay down for long.

Bama/AU/LSU are clearly the kings of the west as well. Of course aTm has loads of potential and can make noise. As does Missouri. But for both teams to win their respective divisions in the same year? I just don't really see it happening anytime soon, if ever.

If TN can beat UF and Missouri at home they will go 4-4 in the SEC. Big if, but it is certainly very possible.

IDK it seemed to me last year Mizzou thrived without Franklin and SC struggled without Shaw. I might swop those? Not to mention other key losses on both sides of the line i.e. Elington, Clowney, etc.

if UGA stays healthy; I look for the east to come down a battle between them and USCe. I'm going to give SC the advantage because they have the better defense and the home field advantage head to head. IF things go right, MIZZOU could be right there in the mix in the east again. They could also finish 5th as well. we shall see. In the west; it's hard to argue against bama, auburn and LSU in any order..

I feel the same way here. ^^^

As far as the east I'm going to play it close to the vest until our first game is over. I could name so many reasons for us to be confident but there are alot of question marks as well. (How will Mason do against top defenses, how will his chemistry be with all the receivers, will our players stay healthy, how agressive will we be on defense, the entire secondary minus Swann, well I guess I could even ask which Swann will we get 2012/2013, will the scheme really be simpler, and will it make a difference.)

On the west side it is hard not to pick Bama given there talent in small part compared to the schedule they have going into 2014.

Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, Arkansas, Miss State, Western Carolina and maybe even WV all look like gimmes to me.

Not trying to flame anyone but two out of the UT, UF, ATM, and OleMiss games will be close wins the other two surprise beatings.

But hey it's early and there are always surprises so...can't wait for those questions to be answered and to be proven wrong.

Every SECw team has questions so predicting it this year is foolish.

I'll bet you anything short of a body part that A&M vs. Mizzou will happen one day, eventually, before the end of time

This is the truth.

You could make a case for why every team will go 9-3 or worse

the fact is mizzou is most of the time going to be in the 3-4 range in the east

Doubt it. The east has good teams. It's not the west though and Mizzou will be able to beat any of those teams any year. Beating them all is something we will not be doing though

Probably so. Also probably won't be anytime before I hit retirement age.
