Our end zone has nothing to do with Gay&M as it was in the works before you came in. But please go back to the tackle box that Johnny built and contemplate the thought of losing for the 3rd time in 4 years to the "2nd best team" in "the worst state in the union"

I like the design. Would be a much nicer stadium but I agree with those who would miss the charm of the current one.

I do not mean to sound like an arse this is not a dig but how does Vanderbilt fund a football team with a stadium that small. I know they get tV money but i would think ticket sales for the season would provide the bulk of the funding for a school like Vanderbilt that doesn't get a lot of prime time games like most of the sec.

Thoughts from the rant?
Hate it. Could easily do a face-lift to the current on-campus stadium. That would be a much better option. If at all possible college football belongs at on campus stadiums and the current stadium location is really nice.

Same place we all get our money from. Revenue sharing, I don't believe the TV deal cares if you're on prime time or not. Vandy also made a bowl game in 2016. I suspect the rest is all private donors, and product merchandising.

Love the looks of the stadium.
Hope Nashville gets the MLS team and the stadium.
But leave Vandy football where it is. Like others have said earlier, the Vandy Stadium is a great place to take the kids and watch an SEC game. Not a bad seat in the house.

I immediately thought of Tulane.
I have no clue about the distance, or what that area is like, but the Dome isn't far away, and in an area people don't mind going to.

Not quite. This is at the fairgrounds.

close enough, they're down the street from one another

I think it's just a terrible idea to have a stadium away from campus.
And it may only be 3 miles as a crow flies, but there won't be anyone walking/riding bikes down Wedgewood.

I believe it's the fairgrounds...perhaps the old speedway.

What is the history? UCLA plays at the Rose Bowl which is far from campus and they do just fine.
Minnesota played at the Metro dome which was not all that close to campus and so long as the Gophers were putting out a respectable team they did just fine
Bama used to play some of their home games in Birmingham....used to sell the dump out at Legion Field
SMU used to play at Texas Stadium in te days of the POny Express and high levels of cheating and despite the school's enrollment of like 5000 students would put 40-50K people in the stands
Yeah Tulane sucked with the Super Dome, but then again, Tulane sucked and most of the students at Tulane did not necessarily want to be there and were not from the area....the kids on the team were, though.
I'm not sure the Vandy students know that there is a football team.
Miami used to rock out the old Orange Bowl back when they were winning Natty's and scorching EVERYONE

Phew...then they won't be offended when they find out we have gone full retard and made a conference member (Vandy) our homecoming game this year. Just don't like making a conference member the homecoming game. Seems disrespectful.

So other than ucla, and miami the rest you mentioned are back on campus right?
Miami constantly complains about the bus ride from campus to stadium, and how it hurts in recruitment some. Im sure they would change it if they could.
Anyway, you really didn't make as good of an argument as you thought in your head.

Terrible idea.
Best part about going to a vandy football game is walking on their historic campus. Vandy doesnt need to be Alabama.

Vandy students sure as hell aren't going to go to that part of town until it's totally gentrified and has nice restaurants, etc...
I like Gabby's as much as the next guy, but they can only accommodate about 15 people at a time.

Can you imagine how excited that midget who hangs around 12th South and Wedgewood would be to see a bunch of vandy kids strolling through?
