Are you trying to come up with reasons you will lose to us in your home stadium? By bringing our game with LSU up?

Who cares? LSU had a horrible game and MSU played really well. If the game were played today, LSU would probably win.

I will say this, LSU was one lucky play away from stealing the win back...ONE catch on the last play and LSU wins.

So think what you want, MSU's coaching staff wasn't playing backups....what you saw at the end is what should have been happening earlier in the game.

Miss St is a very good team and should not be discredited for getting the win. But they absolutely were trying to stop LSU in the 4th.

How do you know LSU would win? Maybe LSU has 4 more TO's like they did against OM. Maybe they will have 4 against Bama and Bama blows them out like AU did. Anything is possible. But what is more likely? Would LSU all of a sudden stop Dak Prescott? I don't think so. Maybe LSU hold's the ball longer but I doubt you outscore Dak. MSU would stop your ground attack a couple of times but I'm sure you'd stop Dak as many. I got MSU a 10-14 better team than today's LSU.

One thing is certain. Bama is immune to Death Valley syndrome. Could it be that you fu*ked up by giving it that nick name after a close to loss to Bama?

We weren't as bad as we played

And I'd love to play that game again now

Our coach learned a valuable lesson about letting off the gas, the end of that game won't happen again.

The only thing certain in this thread is the Gump posters are worried to death about LSU.

MSU absolutely went vanilla in the calling of their plays. They eased off in all aspects, thinking they had a big enough lead to win. They were correct, just barely.

Would have been a tied game had lsu took the field goal and the two extra points instead of going for it. Lsu played 4 quarters. Msu played three and almost got burned for it. The game was not as close as the score says though.

Riiiight. You obviously haven't been paying much attention to both teams.

That's absurd. Not only was MSU playing third stringers, they were playing prevent D and running conservative offensive plays for minimal yardage.

MSU had the ball at the LSU 12 with 5 minutes to play, and the score 34-16. One score would have put the game away. Mullen made a huge error at that point (which he admitted) and put in the entire second string offense with Dak at QB. Second string makes no sense, and leaving Dak into play with the second string makes even less sense. They turned to ball over on downs.

Harris came in at QB, and State used a combination of 2nd and 3rd string players to play prevent defense. Very badly. Harris lead LSU to another TD, failed on the 2 point try, and the score was 34-22.

On MSU's next possession, Mullen again put in a collection of subs with Dak at QB. Muniz was at center. Muniz is a Senior who almost never plays. He plays on special teams, and sometimes gets in at the end of big blowouts. He snapped the ball over Dak's head and LSU recovered.

For the next defensive possession, MSU went back to its regular rotation of defensive players, but they were still playing prevent...3 man rush, 8 men back....and they still played it very poorly and gave up a quick TD. 34-29.

After recovering the onside kick attempt, MSU put the first string offense back in. But, they just ran 3 ultra conservative plays and had to punt, which set up LSU's final attempt at a comeback.

State whipped our azz and would be hard to beat even if we played them now due to how dynamic their O is. However, we'd have a better chance now that then. I don't think anyone knew just how good they were when they played us and it was a shock to the system. Still, State would be difficult to beat even with the improvements from LSU. They are built to win.

As for our comeback against them, Dak didn't come out of the game, so they didn't really relax. Their mistake was trying to go for it on 4th and 1 at our 3-yard-line with Robinson out of the game toward the end of the 4th quarter. He came out for whatever reason when they reached our 10 or so. State was trying to drive it in to the end zone eventually, but LSU stuffed it. Enter Harris and MSU's bad pass D, and that was that. LSU should have been going much deeper down the field earlier in the game (because that is MSU's weakness), but Jennings was basically off and Miles thought it was the same MSU team that we usually run down by the 4th quarter. Harris just was able to expose MSU's biggest weakness. LSU just ran out of time. Starters or no starters, I think Harris could do damage to State's secondary.

No, but the fury of 100 LSU posters foaming at the mouth about every weak A&M troll is. I guess you have to have an appreciation for it.

Actually, I doubt any of us care if LSU or OM won, as we don't really see the rest of the season having much of a shot. It's just hilarious watching all the LSU fans coming on here who haven't been around to take the licks from the last few weeks (yourself and a few exceptions) strutting like they just won an NC.

There's still a handful of LSU fans here that think the 4th quarter of the game indicates how good LSU is.

This is so stupid on so many levels. You could say the same about every team that has came back late in games or even won.

The key indicators of how good LSU is, since we have gotten DJ Welter off the field our run defense has been pretty damn good and improving each week. But I am sure this is not the answer you were looking for.

If they were playing prevent D, then Harris was even more successful because he TORCHED it. MSU ran all over LSU for most of the game even with conservative runs. LSU just happened to stuff them on 4th and 1 inside the LSU 5. If they were really being conservative, they would have kicked the FG, but they wanted the 1st down and the TD.

Who cares both LSU and State are going to beat Bama

A win over this year's Alabama squad doesn't mean as much as it would have in 2009, 2011, or 2012. This is not a national championship caliber team. Alabama has declined since the 2011 defense. First it was the defense. Now the offense is having problems.

Dan also should've kicked a field goal early in the 4th but decided to go for it to burn more clock, but we got stuffed IIRC

With Robinson on the bench BTW...

There were alot of mistakes made at the end of that game that we've learned from.
