Spent most of my time in Hoover last year around a few LSU fans I met the first night. They were great. Hate I couldn't make it this year due to work.

I have no idea what you heard but from experience people in and around Slidell have closer to a Yat accent

I am not an expert on the regional accents of Louisiana, so forgive me if it seemed like I was poking fun at a group of people.
The majority of folks that I have met from Louisiana are friendly and will literally give you the shirt off of their back.
I'm sure what I experienced was just an isolated incident.

I've seen more LSU fans get into it with other LSU fans than I have seen LSU fans getting into it with other SEC fans.

In 1990, when I was a student at LSU I went to the LSU Georgia game in Athens and ran into a real trashy shitbird of a fan in his mid 40's. He came up to the Asian woman in our party and randomly started saying "ching chong chink chong...." and every other racist slur you ever heard until I had to push him against a wall and threaten to kill him. She was decked out in LSU purple and gold. So this stuff happens everywhere.Here's the kicker- he was an LSU fan from Violet, Louisiana.
I tracked him down later IRL and have comitted his name to memory. He has two larceny convictions and goes by "The Flea". Still alive.

I have never had an issue with another fan base in person, other than one "bama fan" that I work with who didn't go to college, and he is usually pretty civil.
