Sure. OP was about football only obviously, but yeah Florida is the best at the most sports.

All sports, since 1992. Yes - Florida.
But not "by far"......That is total lunacy.

Football since 1992
Again, LSU has had a winning season and a bowl app in 19 of the last 21 years. No one else can say that
4 SEC titles in 5 apps, 2 NCs in 3 NC apps.
LSU has been unranked 7 times since 1992, same as Florida. Five Top 5 apps, eight Top 10 apps.

Basketball since 1992
LSU had had 3 Sweet 16 apps, 2 Elite 8 and 1 Final 4
Women's BB had a streak of 5 straight Final Fours

Track since 1992
Men have had several NCs, Women have had numerous

Golf since 1992
At least 1 NC

Baseball
Duh.

They have absolutely dominated the All-Sports Trophy since 1992: won it 23 out of 24 years.

Other schools have bested them in some sports, but if you truly consider "all sports" it doesn't even seem close.

quote:

Since Jeremy Foley's hiring in March 1992, the SEC All-Sports Trophy has gone to another school just once: Georgia, which tied a Florida record for SEC titles in a season with eight in 2005-06, was the lone team to break up the orange and blue reign. And Florida's two streaks — the 14 straight titles from 1991-92 to 2004-05, and the current streak of nine straight since 2006-07 — are now each comprised of more consecutive titles than the 13 other SEC teams have won in the award's history.

That was harsh considering what the university has done for Southwest Louisiana

Florida, as of 2015, had a total of 286 National Championships....46 more than any other SEC program (LSU 240)

I would agree with this.

National Championships
3- Florida
5- Alabama

SEC Championships
7- Florida
6- Alabama

Winning Percentage
74.6%- Florida (#4 Nationally)
67.9%- Alabama (#16 Nationally)

Wins
230- Florida (#2 Nationally)
195- Alabama (#21 Nationally)

AP Poll Points
321- Florida (#3 Nationally)
306- Alabama (#4 Nationally)

SEC Standings
#1 Florida (152-51-0... 74.9%)
#2 Alabama (138-64-1... 68.2%)

SOS (Based on games played vs. ranked teams)

#1 Florida (133 games played against ranked teams)
#4 Alabama (112 games played against ranked teams)

Head-to-Head
Alabama leads 9-6
Series tied 4-4 in SEC Championship Games

Bottomline is its pretty much a draw. Alabama has two more National Titles, but Florida leads in most every other category. The fact that Florida has played BY FAR the nation's toughest schedule.... a full 21 additional games played against ranked competition... and still come away with more wins and a better winning percentage has got to be worth something.

Alabama is more decorated. Florida has been on average the better program since 1992. If you only count the high's, then its Alabama. If you factor the high's and the low's, its got to be Florida.

It all depends on how you want to look at it.

Bama wants to take the good without their bad

Overall UF has been more consistent over the post expansion period
While Bama has been great under one coach for a shorter period of time not withstanding their fluke Natty under Gene Stallings

Florida Football for everything they won are the biggest cowards in the SEC
See how quick they turn and run at Bama
Who broke their latest run? Bama
Who refuses to play Miami? Florida

Alabama is 9-6 vs. Florida since the 92 expansion, including a current 5 game winning streak.

So there's also that.

Biggest cowards?

In each title run, UF has played the toughest SOS in the country.

LSU is maybe the only school in the country that has had a winning season and gone to a bowl game in NINETEEN OF THE LAST TWENTY-ONE YEARS, (winning 12) since 1995, including 16 years IN A ROW.

Maybe the only school with 19, but UF has had a winning season and bowl game in 20 of the last 21 years.

We had the longest non-losing season streak in the SEC (1979) and 2nd longest bowl streak in the country until the Muschamp debacle of 2013.

I have loved the SEC Championship games against UF since 92 we have played each other, how much longer do you feel it will take UF to return to their proper place of dominating the east? I know y'all won it last year, but they may have been because of the overall ineptitude of the east. I think next year is will be the next time UF fields a true championship caliber team, do UF fans agree?
