You should know better than this.
Alabama's alltime record excluding Bear is better than LSU's alltime record. I would even venture to guess that Bama's alltime record excluding Bear AND Saban is still better than LSU's.

Its definitely a rivalry c'mon man when was the last time we played a rival like Auburn or Tennessee for the National Championship? Never. Look back over the last 4 years and tell me a more competitive series between 2 teams in the SEC let alone in the West Division with the national title on the line. Saban even referred to LSU as a rival a couple weeks ago in one of his press conferences.

2008- number 1 alabama vs number 2 florida..winner to the bcs
2009- number 1 florida vs number 2 alabama..winner to the bcs
I don't remember bama and florida fans claiming it to be the next great rivalry..like was just stated, a competitve series doesn't equal a rivalry.
Rivalries are born out of school turning you into the ncaa and flipping your major recruits, not 4 close football games. Malice and hatred is the cornerstone of a good rivalry. Historically speaking, alabama owns lsu..recently it's been one hell of a series

Also, in the definitive Bear Bryant biography "The Last Coach", it is mentioned several times that he thought of Bama's rivals being Auburn, UT and LSU. And we all know Bear Bryant is the God of Alabama Football, and who are YOU to defy God?

That he did but you're beating Tennessee like a rented mule right now and that doesn't stop you from calling them a rival.
Just to recap:
Bear Bryant says LSU is an Alabama rival
Nick Saban says LSU is an Alabama rival.
