You don't seem to get it.

You start a 'fun trip' thread, then go about making a numbered list flaming aTm. Within this post, you write some astonishingly douchey things. (Talking about how you were the awesome life of the party, and that there weren't enough fratboys for your liking).

Nobody's accusing you of being too honest, just calling you out for being a huge tool.

Good Lord. Now y'all are judging the female students by the Corps chick shown on TV?

For a conference that prides itself on knowing a lot about the schools besides your own, some of you can't seem to wrap your minds around the fact that the Corps is under 2,000 out of 50,000 students.

When it's all they show on TV, it's kind of hard not to think every chick there is a 5 at best

right, but because it's unique to A&M and not other schools its typical for TV cameras to show them on every crowd shot. With other schools without the corp the camera shots are sorority girls in sundresses. I know you guys have them just like other SEC schools (I've been at Jerryworld the past few years) just saying the TV broadcasts don't showcase them like they do other crowds.

We say that constantly, Latarian. They sit in Corps bloc on the first deck, so the cameras are always right there. Plus, for whatever reason, the media/cameras (particularly national) love to fixate on the Corps. I think it's b/c it's such a novelty for em. Don't get me wrong--the Corps are "The Keepers of The Spirit" at A&M, and I hope they only continue to thrive. But they're a very small percentage of our university, though you'd never know it, based on TV coverage.

I had a good time in CS when I was there, but I also went for the best event at that school. Chilifest

Oh I know, my buddy's wife even told me that and I've seen the crowd at Jerryworld. Just saying the broadcasts don't do you any favors by only showing the corp all game.

I read about 5 posts on the first page of this thread but wanted to add something.

The arguement about how hot the girls are at a certain school is the dumbest fricking thing in the world. I can only imagine that people who even mention stuff like this are old men/ugly dudes/self-conscious pussies. Every single one of these schools that people visit have literally THOUSANDS of attractive women everywhere. frick you if you're so much of pussy that you can't talk to any of them like the 2 or 3 girls in your circle of friends back home. End of rant. Don't be a bitch.

No it's not.

You know there are something like 25k women at TAMU.

You know there are ~2,000 corps members (a significant minority of which are female).

I don't need to continue...

Ok, I will give you the raw comments:

"You guys are pretty cool"
"These guys are fun"
"Y'all are awesome"
"I like these guys"

interpolate from there. Sorry if I made an error

So is this a compliment or not?

Are you still struggling with admitting you had fun despite what's said by folks on the Rant?

You do understand that by virtue of your singe trip to CS, you're more qualified to opine on this topic than something like 95% of those claiming to know the place?

Again, you just don't get it.

The point isn't what was said - the fact that your natural reaction to people being nice to you is to brag about it while talking shite about them means

a) It's probably rare that someone's nice to you

b) You're a huge tool

Then they have no business forming an opinion of the place, much less expressing one. Those are very general, easy-to-know facts, the knowledge of which should precede any legitimate opinion.

For the record, I'm not the least bit offended by your synopsis, Porker. I live here/go to all games, and I can tell you that this weekend was one of the most subdued game we've had in ages. Again, horrible weather crushed the energy.

College Station isn't for everyone. It's a college town. Nothing more, nothing less. But we think it's pretty close to perfect. Has nothing to do w restaurants, bars, topography, scenery, etc. It's the people. They'd do just about anything for their neighbors and visitors, alike.

Come back again. Hopefully it'll be a nice fall day next time, and not a monsoon.

Well I don't have strangers fawning over me like Porker "the rock star" does, but I'm okay (sometimes).

And it's not that you need to be studying the different qualities of a school on a daily basis. It's that if you want to express a legitimate opinion -- or just not be a dumbass -- do a little investigative research (I.e. a 30 second google search) before championing a position.
