Yes. This is the East we are talking about after all.

All in your head I see.

And yes. They've won the SEC before. I'm only 32.

Well...seeing as how they were already the SEC champs in many of our lifetimes (1976), I would say it's possible.

At the end of business hours, the No's have it.

Thanks to everyone for voting.

Yes. Hell, they won ten games in 2007. At some point the marbles will fall once in 70 years.

Yes. Right coach who can get that fan base truly thinking football. Two schools I don't understand in football are Kentucky and North Carolina.

Both states have good high school football programs and the aforementioned schools are the biggest name in their respective states.

Plus Lexington is beautiful. It's my favorite road trip. The Cats are remodeling and that should help.

But the total basketball emphasis must share.

And the most important thing: to win either SEC division, a team normally has to have 60-70 ballplayers. Kentucky has maybe 50.

Can it be done? Without question. Will it happen is simply unanswerable.

Louisville is a bigger football name than Kentucky.

Yes.

UK was co-champ with Alabama in 1977, not 1976. I was a freshman. Won the NCAA in basketball that year also. Pretty damn good freshman year.

And yes, I am old as frick.

Recently, yes. But Kentucky does have some tradition under Bear and then Claiborne (sp).

Missouri just did something that Kentucky hasn't done in program history.

Outside of St. X, Trinity, Male/Manual, and Highlands high school football generally stinks. Those are the programs that crank out DI players. You can't rely on 4-5 high schools to support one program let alone 2.
