How does a team that was #3 5 days ago fall 3 spots after winning by 55 points?
well they got jumped by an undefeated tema and a team that beat a top 25 team by 59 points.
makes sense to me. TCU didn't even win the conference outright. IF the Big 12 had any kind of integrity they Baylor would have.

If the team was named Texas it would have never happened. Imagine if Miss St won out then got booted by OSU on the last day.
you mean won out after losing to Bama or gone undefeated?
TCU lost their conference, and the Big 12 changed to rules, and i think the committee decided to give them the finger. Good, they deserve it. Baylor beat TCU.

Because their conference is trash for changing the rules at the end of the season.
This had absolutely zero to do with it. The committee paid no attention to any label the conference happened to put on a team. Putting a label on them had no effect on what happened on the field over the course of the season.

TCU got jumped.
People are acting like TCU was penalized, but it was a case of other teams jumping them.
---------------------------------
Which schedule is tougher ?
OSU'S
Maryland
Rutgers
Penn St.
Navy
Kent St.
Cincinnati
Illinois
Indiana
Virginia Tech
Minnesota
Mich.
Mich. St.
Wisconsin
TCU's schedule
Samford
Minnesota
SMU
Oklahoma
Baylor
Oklahoma St.
Texas Tech
West Virginia
Kansas St.
Kansas
Texas
Iowa St.
There are 5 teams in the Big 12 that's as good or better than Mich. St or Wisconsin.
The schedules are not comparative, the OSU schedule is FAR EASIER.
And OSU had the worst loss by far.

Ohio State improved their SOS and won a conference championship yesterday. All that TCU did was beat a lowly Iowa State team. Meanwhile, their quality wins took a hit with OU's loss.

After beating Alabama
TCU wasn't an undefeated team that played in a championship game.
They were a Co-Champion with one loss to the other champion. Baylor SHOULD be the Big 12 champion, and the Committee treated them as such.

Yep. The committee is just a new wrapper on the same piece of shite.
It's remains a tilted table in the favor of the traditional blue bloods.

Um... That Bama clapping gif is some North Korea level shite.

I think people are too caught up in the old AP poll logic that teams "fall" by "SUBTRACTION" from their resume more than others rise based on how much they "ADD" to theirs.
Ohio St, FSU and Baylor simply "Added" more to their resumes than TCU in the final week when all were (according to the committee) practically in a dead heat going in.
It was more a scheduling anomaly that even allowed TCU to be ranked #3 in the first place.
They were already getting credit for their best resume games last week when all three teams in a dead heat with them still had one of their biggest ones to add.

Yeah, they did, but justified by what? Ohio State winning the B1G pillow fight?

Playoff Committee Got It Wrong

SO, You are basing the whole season on one game ? I posted the schedules an there is ZERO ARGUMENT that TCU's schedule is far tougher than OSU's schedule.
And OSU has by far the worst loss.
And TCU beat Minnesota 30-7 while OSU beat them 31-24

Exactly, but all anyone wants to talk about is non-conference schedules and continue ignoring that TCU and Baylor's non-conference schedules were tougher than Ohio State's conference schedule.

OSU won 12 games this year, TCU & Baylor one 11 games. OSU is the undisputed conference champion, TCU & Baylor are not.
TCU and Baylor played and Baylor won. According to their conference's bylaws, Baylor is supposed to be the conference champion. So since conference champs count according to the committee, and since Baylor won head to head, Baylor was ahead of TCU.
Baylor's out of conference schedule killed them. They had the 128th OOC schedule (according to ESPN). Add that to the fact that they didn't play in a 13th/conference championship game, and you get that the committee thought the OSU was more deserving than Baylor.

It's fortunate that a team that didn't play in a Championship game didn't get in. The playoff committee fixed what was broken in 2011.
Said it last year, will say it again, playoff will always have more controversy. #1 and #2 are almost always settled and clear cut, which is why the BCS was fine. 3-6 or 7 will always be up for debate and argued, as they'll pretty much all have the same win/loss and it'll come down more subjective components.

The committee out-clevered themselves the way they ranked the teams. When you're ranking teams on projected outcomes and seeding, pairings and best regional matchups and not the best team on the field, this is what you end up with.
